I love how people say "Battleping" whilst saying the problem is at SE.

Full Darklight is enough to survive most aoes.Get more HP as in, "Go do Chimera with level 90 gear and survive a Ram's Voice that slipped through".
Now that I think about it... it's funny how the Cutter's Cry Chimera is better designed than Dhorme. On CC everyone's forced to move accordingly. On Coerthas, you hope the Bard/Monk/Paladin don't screw up, besides that, stand still until the red circle appears on your feet...
Shield Lob (Can change red text to Tomahawk and it will work perfectly Warriors)

/ac "Shield Lob" <t>

Better "macro switching", give it a read: http://tinyurl.com/ffxivhotbars
the reason why theres a lot of insta death, though i hate them with a passion, is because the mechanics are very basic, let me link you this from a boss fight in wow, its a long read

Why is it that whenever a player fails at fights, they instantly want SE to nerf it and make things better, rather than just learning how to get better themselves?
I seem to recall Wow having a LOT of instant death mechanics. E.g. The dance fight in Naxxaramas where you had to literally dance through a pattern in the room to avoid lava insta killing you. How about the guy with the charges where if you were on the wrong side you died. Then there was the ice prison on Sindragosa which was even harder on heroic mode in ICC.
Wow had tons of instant death mechanics. However their AOE indicators were exact, if you weren't in it on your screen you weren't going to get hit, Period!.
To me, instant death mechanics are fine, but SE really REALLY needs to get on the ball with making the aoe hit boxing client side, period. SE stop worrying about people hacking fights, and worry more about making your player base happy and maybe you guys can make a game where 90% of your subs don't drop off on the first year.
If I were SE, my absolute HIGHEST priority would be fixing hit box mechanics on aoe indicators, and I mean HIGHEST, if I had to I would set content patches asside and put all hands on deck to fix the aoe indicators before doing ANYTHING else. Most people playing can't play the fights at all without preemptively moving, and it's so dumb.
I know a guy on Turn 2 that can only do it on his bard, because he can only doge the prism lazer* if he strafes left and right the ENTIRE fight. He's sent me screen shots of him standing way out of it on his screen and still getting smacked by it anyways,.
And I'm sure everyones seens the hundreds of videos of people not in landslides on the other side of titans platform getting knocked off over a second after he cast it.
Server Side HitBoxing on fight mechanics is so bad, Fix it.

lol that's cuz WoW has a ton of insta-death mechanics. Slimes blowing up on you. Frontal cone AoEs (which wtf would anyone other than the tank get hit by these, unless you aren't moving away from the thing if you see the mob for some odd reason is about to be turned around), stuff that you stand in, ect. This is a MMO thing in general, 'period'. Punishing people who can't think on their feet and react as fast (or that lag really badly)
wow did have insta death, however, its not, aoe, in it then death, it was more of a case, ability, something happens, if you dont fix it in time, then insta death, the ice prisons on sindragosa gave leeway, and the prisons themselves would only kill you after some time before death.
also read http://www.wowwiki.com/Yogg-Saron_(tactics), thats easy mode btw, theres very few insta death on that fight, and those in these forums who did this fight can tell you that wasnt an easy fight even on normal mode :P
Or it means using a controlled route you can still get to the datacenters in a time that it's possible, your ISP could do the same by increasing capacity, and whoever controls the transatlantic fibre (for EU players) can increase capacity we wouldn't get the slowdown, just the fact that a VPN or proxy can increase response time by the amounts some people state means the problem is not at SE but down to ISPs.
