Well at the moment i only read people are hating it because the "fanboys" say its the best e.t.c, which was the case but i havent read about it for a looooong time...so they are quite late.
I played both, in terms of story FFVI really is superior, FFVII has a lot of plotholes but still i liked the scenery in FFVII more just like the Characters.
Bad translation...lol, the first time i got FFVII was the German version, i played the NA version later and the German version is even worse...we even had french textes but thats not the games fault.
And i dont think its the only reason it got all the good scores, it was really overhyped and overrated when it came and years after it but there are enough people who just like the story...
The Gamesplay of FF is pretty much standard in any with some tweaks like Job system e.t.c, Story and Characters are the only thing which stands out and everyone have different tastes.

The only games that sell massively for SE are Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, without those two franchises they would be less than average.

you can say that about every company if you remove their flagship products.

Yeah..., no... VI is the must buggy Final Fantasy to ever release, PERIOD.

You can hate and we can debate all day long, but lies are lies are lies. Also, both have more than are listed on that wikia.
I'll just end with this, VI (AN AMAZINGLY AWESOME GAME TO BE SURE) was the third game on the SNES made by the same team and it has 31 glitches. VII (AN AMAZINGLY AWESOME GAME TO BE SURE) was the first final fantasy on its console AND it switched consoles durring its development and it only has 18 glitches. And just to compare, IX the 3rd Final Fantasy main title on the PS1 has very very few exploits or glitches. JUST SAYING ^^
