I agree. I have my gripes both ways, but I'm much happier with what I have now than with what I had then.
The face? Like character face, or am I missing out on a term I might have known had my stepdaughter not moved out?

Haha, no, that's just my way of saying I don't like the direction the game has gone thus far. I'm holding our hope on future expansions/patches, but what I really want is something I can latch onto and say "Yeah, now this is a game I want to play!"
2.0 is not all of coerthas by far. if anything it is 1/5th of it.
Case in point that there is more Coerthas:
Cyclopses in Coerthas Western Highlands.
Oh god, posting those is going to make people think the 1.0 maps were actually something to be envious of. If you exited out of Ul'dah, you had just seen the design for the entire Thanalan area. That screenshot of Coerthas is pretty, but again, the entire zone looked the same. The whole world was space simply to have space. Don't get me wrong, I loved 1.0, but the world design is definitely not the reason why.
I do think 2.0 could have more space simply to have space though. You are never far from some camp. They did a great job making the world feel more unique, but at the cost of making it feel expansive.
Where the hell did the world go? I want to play on those maps in those lands. I want to explore and get lost in the world![]()
They can hardly make the minature 2.0 maps worth walking around, god knows what they would do if they kept the scale of 1.0 maps. Maybe when they get around to making the open world they put so much effort into worth more than a staging ground for FATE grinds we will see people actually wanting to explore.
SE doesn't seem too keen on this though, they would rather cram people into instances, because god forbid player concentration rise beyond 20 people in the same area the servers might start having a fit when the hamsters get tired.
coerthas have two passage closed, one is the icy waterfall, the other is the griffon gate at the south east.
we don't have west shroud for the blackshroud, same it seems the east is bigger but was cut.
we must'nt forget that the world will become bigger, maybe even with the 2.1 (i doubt it, but who know)
So I actually find myself appreciative of the comparison shots, it's shown me something I previously had very little reference for. (my 1.0 character is lvl 13, and I leveled her at launch.)
The new environments look better! In some cases considerably. It's sad small details have gone by the wayside in favor or memory conservation, i.e. mi'qotte butts, higher detailed armor, inertia animations, etc. But the 2.0 redesign really has made the game generally look better.
we do forget that a lot of the area was impossible to reach because of the monster 50+ some even 90+
