You know how awesome it sounds to tell people "oh hey you can just delete the old item and spend 1-2 weeks capping myth for it again if you want the look back"? As I said af1 is nothing more than a recolor of our job armor we get while leveling, why can we put our job armor in but not the recolor of it?

Because the job armor is Truly Unique in that it cannot by any means be reacquired in the game.
Same with event items that are only avaiable once or for limited time and will never be avaiable again.

If the item doesn't falls under "Cannot ever be reacquired" aegis, then it can go in the armoire. If you CAN reacquire it at some point, then it cannot go in the armoire.
