Duty Finder Etiquette

This is not a clear cut truth. As a WHM, I have to use the GC wand/WP wand, as I have nothing else I could use that is better. I cleared Ifrit HM & Garduda HM with a FC/few friends group with no issues. It is not that hard. It is just a matter of pattern memorization. So to say the above is maybe 50/50 based on player skill.

I can't stand the people that think because they beat, or were carried through Garuda one time, you are equipped and ready for Titan. Primals can be run over and over, if you are using a GC weapon, and claim it's the best you can get, you just haven't run Ifrit or Garuda enough. If your luck really is bad, run it 30 times and no drop, then craft or buy a better weapon like an Alkalurops and meld it. Hopefully the minimum item level requirement will help in the future, but there are still going to be those people that have geared a tank, so they will use their useless vitality jewelry on their bard to meet the requirements to get into a dungeon and hold a group back. Etiquette needs to go both ways, if skilled/geared players are supposed to help out newer ones, newer ones need to make more of an attempt to gear themselves up and prepare for fights like Titan.

It wont be easy but it is possible to beat Titan HM with WP/GC weapons. Gear just makes the fight easier. Most Titan wipes are before Heart (where damage is needed) and after Heart, and can be attributed to people missing an avoidable ability, and better gear just means they will die the next time they don't dodge.

I always try to be friendly in DF but when you get a silent group it's so odd.. Feels like i'm playing with AI npc's sometimes.

Yeah, I've had a few of those. I take it either they are a premade using a voice chat or Ps3 players with no easy access to typing or non english speakers who have no idea what i said. The good thing is you tried.

Titan HM can be done in swimsuits... As long as you can destroy the heart, you can finish titan.

Also, I ended up spending a lot of time fighting Ifrit, over 100 runs for my axe. The only reason I kept going is the FC also needed to gear up. I would not be surprised if someone gave up and continued to Garuda and then to Titan. Considering it can be bought and 5 manned makes me wonder how hard Titan really is or is it the add you have to pickup... aka lag.

PS I didnt even tank my Titan run and was LOLDPS. Still lasted longer than the other DPS and was hit by avoidable once, maybe twice.

I agree entirely. I beat Titan for the first time with Ifrit sword, WP/AK build and Market Board accessories. I got my 1st piece of Allagan before I got Garudas sword. Which i barely got this past weekend. No Titan shield yet.

Titan can be 5 manned, by people that have gear, so sure you can go in undergeared and get carried. It can be done in swimsuits if you have good weapons, either way this is about duty finder, if you go in undergeared, you are going in expecting others to be geared up enough to make up for what you are lacking.

Never had this mindset for DF. I always expected lackluster performance in there and is more like a test bed for people who wish to see what Titan is like before building a pt with people who you might interact with on your own server. Ifrit and Garuda are far more forgiving than Titan is as well which is why it's an easy farm mode for both.

The one exception here is tanks. For damage dealers Titan HM is a DPS check. For tanks it is an armour check. Ideally a tank would want an Ifrit or better weapon, but if you are otherwise well geared it can be done with a GC weapon without any aggro problems.
