did it. omg its taking forever to rank up. at this point since my GC log is complete, the only thing that is making the bar fill at all is FATEs... uugh

Lol, it's nice to see someone who already put my thought to action. And yeah, it's the only part that I fear. The long grind/wait for the necessary rank to obtain one. But I might end up desperate enough to do so. How long would you say that it took you to get whatever rank you're at now?

First there isnt anything said that you need rank 6, only you need the right rank to get a house!

Every rank has a perk added to it, all of the existing ranks already has one, they dont want every single FC in the game to flood the housing instances the minute the patch goes live so yes, you will need AT LEAST rank 6 to get your house.

I *really* wish they would release the costing already....

It sounds like they are tuning to sink a certain percentage of server gil with the costs (obviously tuned to the poorest server). That could be a massive amount (50m+) or it could be relatively simple. All depends on what they want to do the economy.

my FC is only a few days old (Rank 1) and i have only ran maybe a half dozen (lvl 20)FATEs at this point for my back-up classes.... but at this point im up to 10% i can say the higher the lvl FATE the higher reward but im worried its going to be like my chocobo.. probably by the time i reach the req rank everyone would have bought there plots and hopefully i can buy one cheap.

It doesn't take long to get to rank 5 (max before 2.1) so I don't think you have to worry. Also, there is unlimited housing so you shouldn't stress over not being able to get it at the start of 2.1. Plus, it'll actually get cheaper over time.

Would be great to know how much the house will cost and whats the starting price for the lands.

Since there are real-world resource limitations, I expect prices to be high, certainly higher than 99.9% of individuals could afford. It could even be that land auction prices start at ridiculously high prices (10M? more?), and that fully outfitting a house could cost many million gil and hundreds of crafting hours, not to mention dozens of battles to get those housing drops.

I'm hoping SE thinks about putting in some really aggressive measures against RMT activity before this comes out. I've read/heard stories about ridiculous amounts of real money (thousands of dollars) being paid to purchase stuff like castles in other games going back to older games like Ulitma Online, etc. The introduction of housing sounds like RMT heaven on it's way unless SE steps in and does something about that.

This can't happen here since houses themselves can't be sold and the terrain is sold via a reverse auction system.

I want my costa del so condo from ff7....! Would be cool to make yard work optional makeing dem lolliphails mow the lawn and/or get run over by said mower. Could also let the lawn grow nuts haveing neighbors complain and mandatory home owner meetings..... Or is that to much?
