my advice is join an endgame FC that's willing to take in new blood and teach you the ropes.

Using it alongside virus is pretty important for Twintania, and also if you run a warrior tank you want as many people with buffs/debuffs as possible to use in the absence of pally CDs.
Also for all the people out there who want to lie to get into Coil groups: Yesterday our static was short a DPS for turn 4 and we pugged one, someone responded and had only full DL and his +1 relic and when we asked him if he was experienced he said no but he watched some videos. We took him anyway, had him jump on TS just to listen and follow our strategy and it only took us 30 minutes. He preformed wonderfully.
This is what honesty can do for you, because if you show premades some respect we will give some respect too. We know when someone is lying and they get kicked and blacklisted, and you will get a reputation for this especially on turn 5 at the moment. When a group insists on experience and they're not running turn 5 it is not unlike any other group asking for experience; it's an insecure group of people who fail a lot and they're looking to stack odds in their favor. Skilled groups looking to fill slots will care about experience less often as they can already count on most of the group, and if you want regular easy coil runs these are the people you don't want to piss off.
VoIP is overrated - Can be replaced with good macros.
Don't like and prefer not to use it - Someone like me finds trying to listen to people talk while focusing on the screen distracting.
Did Ifrit Extreme in 1.0 with and without VoIP - Won in a PUG that used just macros
And other people find macros to be annoying and distracting.
Of course all this can be done without VoIP, but a lot of groups prefer it. It's like saying you shouldn't pick up a cross class skill because you don't need it to beat stuff. Doesn't change the fact it generally makes stuff easier though.
The guys doing stuns on ADS in my group would be annoyed if everyone wants to macro their stuff with sound effects, one mechanic being macroed is what seems to be comfortable without causing clutter and confusion. And other people find macros to be annoying and distracting.

It's our group so we can set whatever rules we want tbh. It's probably possible to play while balancing on a rope but I really don't care what you can do, everyone has to be on the same page.
Putting it in context. My post is in response to this comment "4- Wither you are on PS3/4 or PC, VOIP is almost always mandatory. "And other people find macros to be annoying and distracting.

Preference aside, it does not necessary make things easier and therefore should not be mandatory.
I don't think I am the only one who responds slower to what I hear than to what I see out there. Forcing people to use one or the other will be making some people perform better at the expense of others.
Hence your cross class skill example doesn't fit in. Getting a cross-class skill improves someone's play. VoIP however has a possibility of being detrimental, even if that's the minority.
well once the pvp patch hits. ur gonna be needing voice anyway. so why the hell not encourage people to use voice early on. u can waste time typing and reading or spend a few minutes discussing over voice. i dont see any drawbacks from voice.Putting it in context. On pvp, I find it hard to imagine it other than "everyone go after the healer/casters" at this point of time.
