I don't want to offend you, but I'm not telling you what you want. I'm telling you what most people want.

The representation of players that want "fun, meaningless content" is about like the representation of MMOs that don't focus on combat. Just the same as there are players that like the questing more than the fighting. TSW tried to cater to that group, and it's dead or nearly so.

You could make a WW2 game where you never picked up a rifle or touched a tank, you went to the factory, and took in junk metal for recycling and some people would play it. However most people want war in a war game. This is a combat game, it is.

Also, you say that you believe the mmo community has the maturity to support a sandbox game and simultaneously attack anyone that disagrees with you on this, ranging in degree. Not because of your demeanor, but in general, I don't think the community has the maturity anymore. I've watched it devolve over the past decade, and I've certainly lost some of that too. No longer do I stare with wonder at the big dragon, I just want the fight to function properly and drop appropriate loot.
