Probably because our characters are sitting and not bopping around like idiots on uppers
What's the point in defending the current sit animation? It is terrible. When you look at how casual and relaxed some of the poses NPCs are lounging around in, and then you sit down and no matter what, are sitting completely upright, like you have a rod up your spine, and your hands neatly placed on your lap, it is very un-natural, and looks bad. I really don't see the point at all in trying to defend something by saying things like "well you're sitting, what do you expect".
Any of you that have played City of Heroes, or Phantasy Star Online 2 know what I'm talking about when I say their multiple emotes for sitting etc with different poses/postures looked much better, and honestly isn't asking for that big of a change from our animators.

My kitty, is certainly not prim and proper!
What someone considers terrible is relative. For my character, I like the current /sit posture (I'm a paladin, I AM expecting the queen at any moment), but I would defiantly be open to more options.
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
True, I'm not saying they need to get rid of the current one, just that we should get some more.

I completely agree. If I pull up a stool, or take a seat at the airport bar waiting for a friend to arrive from Gridania, I'd like to look somewhat relaxed. The current pose is so rigid. :/
When the world was young, the Sun bestowed upon me his crown; always will I light your darkest hour.
as far as chairs go not sure how they'd add more options but for jut a sit maybe a / sit 2 or something like some games have would take some of the dull out of it. Though I'm always for more emotes >w<
