For now just REFUSE to play PLD. However you gotta give your very best to make WAR accepted into parties.
At the moment a WAR cant afford to be average.

I have a WAR and PLD in my static coil group. It'll stay that way unless one of them quits. There is hope for you. Just make friends.

On a partly unrelated note, the WAR in my group makes fun of me for being a Lalafel so I make fun of him for being a WAR. Looks like I'll have to find a new way to josh him once 2.1 comes out.

Get a group that isn't stupid. We use WAR in turns 1-4 and it doesn't make them any more difficult. Not enough experience of turn 5 to talk about that yet.

I dont think that this will happen. Post 2.1. you will hurt your groups mitigation if you dont bring both due to the different debuffs they bring. PLD is also fantastic as offtank - blind, rage of halone, cover+hallowed ground, best stun, silence and to some degree CNJ cross class skills.

You also have to consider that with the upcoming BRD nerfs there is more discouragement to stack multiple BRD for silence duty, so a PLD will be required.
PLDs are fine.

when people say a certain class can't be used for something, its really their way of saying they cannot or will not put in the time to adapt. My static runs turns 1-4 with a war tank in about an hour.
