    Odin's Lv Up Mechanic

    I hope they intend to take a look at this for 2.1. On paper, it's a really cool idea but until higher ilv gear is available to players, SE should be capping his lv. He's currently Lv 57 on my server which causes him to 1 shot tanks in full 90 gear. He can't even be tanked, let alone killed when he gets this high.

    thats your servers problem, cactuar just killed him at level 57.

    (don't think we will beat him at 58 though.)

    Everytime Odin is defeated, he gains one level. This means he becomes more difficult as time goes on, but unfortunately what this may end up mean is that he'll become unkillable after a certain point.

    I'm sure we'll still be able to kill him when he reaches level 65 or so. The main issue is that most people are turning up yet can't target the boss, therefore the FATE is getting harder because more people are there yet the amount of damage being done to Odin doesn't match anywhere near the number of people. So hopefully after 2.1 it'll be more reasonable. From what I understand the higher level an enemy is, the more accuracy you'll need to be able to hit him. So in the near future we may need to stack accuracy on our gear for a better chance at dealing more damage. Will we have enough damage though? Who knows? I think the real challenge will be getting people to face Odin with specific gear. Again I could be completely wrong with this, but I hope I can get my last 8 mantles before Odin becomes stupidly OP.

    Oh dear God that's so awesome. Sadly I also see this as an issue, as time goes on less people will play so he'd be too difficult.

    The main problem with the fight (as outlined by a dev post today) is that combos and other effects fail to trigger when fighting him due to the amount of people in the zone. For instance, as a BLM I have to spam Fire 3 or Blizzard 3 repeatedly to even get the Astral or Umbral buff active. Sometimes I have Firestarter proc and can keep spamming it because the game failed to realize I actually used it due to the issues with the amount of people in the area.

    Fought him again today. Lv 58, wiped at less than 5%. More and more people are going to see how big of a problem this is once they fix him disappearing. As cool as the idea of him levelling up is, current gear doesn't support this. As stated above, accuracy is also a huge factor.
