Allagan Gear getting buffed to ilvl95.

So, someone who logs in for 2 hours/week to run Coil once (this will be standard soon enough, since lots of groups already do Turns 1-4 in less than an hour) should have better gear than someone who logs in for 2 hours/week to run WP 10 times? Neither method actually requires more time than the other.

Absolutely, if you played 100 hours a week doing only ilvl55 content, you should be less geared than someone that spends 2 in ilvl90, its just a simple fact. To make a comparison, you can spend 8 years in high school and be less educated than someone with 2 years of college. you can lift a 20 pound weight all day long and you'll be weaker than someone who lifts 100. the list goes on. Why should someone who ever wants to do high level content, get high level gear? like i said before, when we are working on AF3, will you be upset you cant get that same gear from WP? What do you plan on doing with this top end gear if you never do anything with it except dungeons youve been able to do since AF and a GC weapon

Why do you need raid gear if you have no interest in raiding? Why are you worried about whether or not you're ready for turn 6 if you have no interest in doing turns 1-5?

Reading isn't your forte, but that's okay. Here's the break down:

1) This single endgame dungeon content doesn't interest me.
2) I fear endgame content will be 1 dungeon and 1 dungeon alone as opposed to having a choice from here on out (Yes, Bichcat was talking about choices)
3) Screw terrible RNG. I can buy stuff to make gear if i want to try out the next high end content.

This is why i'm waiting for the next round of craft gear. They may be sub par, but i'd have saved my spare time in the process. Making people go through the wringer to get gear to try the next round of content (which were skipped for a reason) is a great way to do away with a portion of the player base imho.

What new content are you referring to? Even if allagan is i95, you would be completely fine in i90 myth gear. There is also CT gear at i80, and potentially primal armor for extreme primals.

If you are talking about Turn 6 in coil, then you will want to (and probably need to) do turns 1-5 first anyways.

So I don't get it. Why would it affect you if allagan gear, which drops from coil and you state you have no desire to do, is buffed to i95. What difference does it make to you? Because you arent wearing BiS, which you dont need, to do content for gear that is lower level than the gear you're wearing?

If new content comes out that is on par in difficulty to coil turn 6, why are you all of the sudden going to want to do that?

In fact, your "I dont wanna do that raid BS" mindset would be completely satisfied with i70 Darklight, and i80 CT gear. You have no need for i90+ for what you want to do in game. Even new content.

Wait a minute... for my Dragoon the Gae Bolg +1 and the Allagan Spear are pretty much identical in-terms of stats, same goes for most of the Allagan/Relic+1 weapons, they have identical physical stats with only the teeny tiniest bit of sub-stat differences but over-all they are identical.

Where-as going from my Gae Bolg -> Gae Bolg +1 it gained 2 main Physical Damage and a boost of all the sub-stats and that was going from ilvl80 to ilvl90, going from ilvl90 to ilvl95 should have at LEAST an extra 1 point on the physical stat of the weapon otherwise it's just pointless...

Unless they plan on boosting the Allagan weapon stats a little, but if not then it's useless.

If you couldnt do the dungeons to receive lvl.90 armor, what makes you think you'll be able to do ilvl100 content?

Well that is the whole point of ilvls in mmos, they have always determined the amount of stats on a piece of gear. So you would think that raising the ilvl would then increase the amount of stats.....

uh... something tells me it's gonna be weapons only. for bards at least i don't think you can even reach the ACC cap with allagan alone. they'd have to redo itemization

If you spend years rising through the ranks to become a manager at a corporation, and then a few days later, someone in the mail room got promoted to the same position as you with the same pay, you cant say you wouldnt be pissed. no matter how you apply this logic, real life or otherwise, it makes 0 sense.

People want easy mode gear, people are lazy, people want the best handed to them and will complain when it isn't.

If you are complaining about the current raid content, why would you complain about future raid content? You won't be doing those anyway. So enjoy your easy ilvl 90 gear because honestly that is ALREADY more than enough to compensate your laziness.

This is nothing like that. If getting Allagan gear is like "spending years rising through the ranks" (I won't deny Coil is a lot of work, but playing Skinner box for a couple hours a week doesn't really qualify as "work" or "putting in the time" in my book), having Coil gear's item level raised has nothing to do with that guy in the mailroom of WP.
