If you're saying to yourself "What was the point of leveling and gearing out my Paladin when Warriors are totes gonna be better now?", then you clearly wanted to play a Warrior in the first place, but didn't go with what you wanted. Instead you went with a Paladin because you wanted to tank, and didn't want to be left out of end game raiding because Warriors were being excluded. Some things to consider:

1) Welcome to how Warriors felt since the beginning of the freaking game.
2) The warrior changes are still in development, and aren't finalized.
3) You can technically have a Warrior tank in end-game dungeons right now, but it is a lot more difficult to pull off than the almost 2.5 minutes of damage mitigation up-time that Paladins have.

I understand there is always going to be the dominant strategy in any MMO, but excluding an entire job from end-game content? That's just stupid.

So quit complaining, play the class you want to play, have fun.

PAL aren't going to become irrelevant after 2.1...so many of the current PAL think they will be. I feel that they're just scared of having to share the spotlight with WAR; they have more or less a monopoly on tanking, and so are really important, and they don't want to lose that.

Now the shoe is on the other foot and PLDs are complaining just like WARs did, however this statement is incorrect. WARs were the best Tank in 1.0. So "Welcome to how Warriors felt since 2.0."

I think that people are getting emotional because they are in a situation like me (I'm not getting emotional, btw):

Having both, I'm really excited to be able to actually play my warrior. Granted I do need a new chest piece for it, DL sucks.

I have both. I always was main with WAR. But its not like the mythology is going to be such a huge importance since i80 gear will be available.

The big difference is that PLD can MT everything in the game. WAR cannot with the same level of ease (if at all but for the very rare group). After the patch, PLD can STILL TANK all the content just like they did before. But WAR's should be able to do just the same, perhaps better, perhaps not.

A PLD getting mad about the changes is crazy. They are taking nothing away. Only putting the other tanking class on par (or better). If your worried about your tanking spot in coil... then you should be more worried about the company you keep and ability to play instead of a buff to another class.

I am proud to say that my GLD is still only lvl 22 cause I like having Provoke. I didn't give a crap what people thought, I was playing WAR and getting taken to Coil. (T1, but hey, I've been!) And you can't really compare the 2.0 situation between PLD/WAR to the one in 1.0. People take WAR to T5 of coil and tank with it now. People didn't take PLD in 1.0 because they didn't have the dmg OR mitigation that WAR did. Now they'll be more similar.

As previously said: 2.1 The Nerf to Paladins Ego.

too funny, almost spot on. I have been holding on to tomes until they released this. I wasn't going to invest the tomes in my WAR if it was going to be a shitty patch on them. I got my PLD up to 30 just in case. Patch notes come out and I dump all of my tomes on my beloved WAR. I just hope these changes stick or.................

Honestly man, unless you're in a min/max group, play what you love. I have never wanted to play a PLD so I don't have one. WAR do well enough in Coil to not merit a mandatory class change and 2.1, even if only a few of those changes make it in, will be even better than where we are now. Spend your myths bruh! Don't fall to the knight illusion!!!!
