Only Selene will do this. Eos won't.Well that is not entirely true!
They are also very spiteful and have an "enemy no. 1".
If they sense a Succubus in Amdapor Keep they imediately try to engage them with all of their fearsome offensive power.
Also they have an "i go wild" spot in the ground level of Haukke Manor where they try to become rogue and want to fly away.
There are two occations where pets will run of. #1 The pet was placed in the instance and you didn´t command her to follow outside. She will run to her last place. Annoying in primals only. #2 Your pet can silence. She will run into range then to try. In some places like AK that means a succubus on the other side of the map throws a fireball and she´s gonna "woohoo I´ll take care of that chaaaarge." Either cases are quite rare and as soon as you know those ist quite easy to slap her as she want´s to run off.
I'm pretty sure I've never used selene in Haukke. There are two occations where pets will run of. #1 The pet was placed in the instance and you didn´t command her to follow outside. As for Halatali, I've seen my fairy run away from the boss, while no fight was going on (since we had already cleared the dungeon, only last boss left), I was simply waiting at the entrance to the last boss (for DF to replenish ranks, it lasted quite a while, and I've had to resummon her, and after a while staying still, she ran away again).
As for placing my pet and moving on, it always makes her just un-summon, nothing more, nothing less.

Yeah, Selene likes to run off and silence whatever just tried to hit her, such as Succubi in AK. Eos though, doesn't have anything offensive to do that with and i've never had her do it either. There are two occations where pets will run of. #1 The pet was placed in the instance and you didn´t command her to follow outside. I know this is about fairies, but I had a weird moment when my Garuda almost single handedly got me mutilated by the monsters across the way because of Succubus's fireball, thankfully our tank was swift on his feet and regained control pretty fast..There are two occations where pets will run of. #1 The pet was placed in the instance and you didn´t command her to follow outside.
