    Totally agree, lock-on is just annoying and screws up fights most of the time. Are you sure you can't switch it to the other stick though? I play with gamepad on PC and have switched lock-on to the left right because it somewhat alleviates the issue of accidental click. Doesn't seem like something that the devs wouldn't be able to do on PS3. Look under System settings>Controller>Customize layout or something.
