and then you use your retainer slots selling left-overs instead of what you are trying to make. So no this is not a solution. What you describe is a work-around.
We can very effectively argue that if the main aim of gaming time for you is markets and crafting, well then the MB slots are not only an asset but the greatest asset. What your propose could be seen as cutting the value of this asset drastically.
No, I am not for this idea at all...Very bad idea.
There will always be constrains in everything that we do, not just in the market. The better ones were able to do it more effectively than others, thus they rise to the top.
Taking your example, I bought big stack of raw gem just to consume 1 of them. I still have some of them in my retainer 1month later. There are downtimes for selling things, that's when I'll clear my inventory of these items. More often than not, I will have better things to sell, so they end up sitting in my inventory. When I run out of space, I either sell them at ridiculously low price, or just vendor them off. I think of this as part of the cost of making that 1 item in order to gain the xp for crafting new items. Eventually, I found that it's not worth doing, so I no longer craft every single recipes for my other crafting classes. You just have to find the more economic way of doing things instead of blindly following guides or what other people says.
Yes, the game can make it more convenient for us...but I think the way it is set up allow traders to play around with different strategies, and that is more important than the minor convenience that you want.
Since I didn't read 50 pages of this I am just going to point out until they effectively remove afk botters from the game and allow actual player supply to be the only supply. This would not work as the botters being able to effectively gather large amounts of materials much much faster could easily undercut all the actual player straight out of the market.
Yup, this so true but a separate issue unto itself. Unfortunately this is a slow roll to get this done.Since I didn't read 50 pages of this I am just going to point out until they effectively remove afk botters from the game and allow actual player supply to be the only supply. This would not work as the botters being able to effectively gather large amounts of materials much much faster could easily undercut all the actual player straight out of the market.
"Be like MacGuyver....Adapt and Overcome!"
I'm on the fence with this one. I understand the vision of just wanting one, but the market sellers only have stacks of a bunch. I also have a problem with forcing me to sell only a few, out of a stack, when that's not what I want. When you go to the store and all you want is one roll of toilet paper, do you think you can just rip the bag open and grab one? Not! Guess what? You just bought the whole thing, weather you like it or not.
Solution. Enix needs to add an option to sell a variable stack instead of just a fix one. In this manner people can just buy one or two, or more. So you have the fix and the variable stacks options. Where you set the unit price in the variable stack. This will make the market so much better.
Let's face it, some like to buy a bunch of materials to craft, rather then go gathering, which can be boring.
By the way, I do sell single items, because I know, first hand, how dumb it is to buy a stack of 50 when you really need only that one.
2.1 and no changes here..
Yeah because it would destroy the entire setup....I sell stacks ALOT cheaper than singles I mean how is this hard to figure out...if you allow people to buy only singles of a stack you have narrowed the scope of market play here drastically, it will be nonstop undercutting and the market will tank...this is a pretty simple concept if people are selling only stacks I can put up singles and make a decent profit on it, why not do away with markets completely and just have vendors for everything with no player input whatsoever..terrible idea IMO, the current system if good, I too have had to buy a stack before, but if you only need 1 and don't want the stack, go farm the item,....I mean its 1 item....or buy the stack and use your 1 and put the rest up for sale in 10's and profit, don't narrow the market playability just because your too lazy to go kill a mob for 1 item....and usually there are people selling 5's 10's I know I do for things, but I also sell 99 for a big discount.
I don't want to run around the planet/pay so much for travel just for a single item.
That defeats the whole point.
I know this has probably been said 1000 times. If you don't want or need 99 then don't buy 99. Typically most people list 99 for less than the individual units which is why you always see them at the top. Its like going to Costco and saying you only want 4 rolls of toilet paper. The reason the cost is so much less then buying retail is because you are buying 48 rolls instead of 4 so you pay 20$ for the 48 as opposed to 4$ for 4 rolls. To me this sounds like you are looking for a way to buy cheap while getting the bulk quantity discount.
