The type of software you are describing in this thread doesn't appear to directly control anything for the FFXIV client, and as such isn't breaking any of the rules. Similar to other programs, 3rd party software is used at your own risk, and we recommend you employ your best judgement when running software not mentioned in the user agreement.

Any ETA on addons. would resolve a lot of these questions.

Tried something like this last night and didn't notice any real difference in coil, it certainly reported that it made things better, but I'm pretty apprehensive to believe it at this stage. Doesn't help that coil is bursting at the seams on Tuesday nights anyway and the server seems to struggle.

I use Bettleping. They have a 20min free trial (unlimited) if you want to test how much it affects you.
It drops latency for me from ~280ms to ~130ms, pretty big difference. Yet those in NA have a natural ping of 50 or less

SE should make a VPN server tunnel based in middle of Europe. So all the europeans can connect via the OFFICIAL Square Enix tunnel. Since they ripped us off with no EU servers. This would be a bandaid for us EU players suffering from 140ms each way to cannada. Wait until PvP is out. EU will revolt!!
