Oh well I probably would have bought the game and subscribed if they had but as I see no reason to pay for the game and another full subscription price on top of what I'm already paying I guess not.

When MMORPG was first invented, the Gaming Gods said "Thou shalt charge $15 a month, or not at all", so no MMORPG is ever allowed to reduce their monthly fee.

Honestly it's pretty ridiculous to think that $15/month is the exact profit maximizing point for supply versus demand in EVERY SUBSCRIPTION MMORPG but you can't argue against the Gaming Gods.

I stopped my FFXI account, 12.95 + $4 * exchange rate = 19.95 for a game I'm not really playing much. But 9.95 + exchange I would totally have both, on the off chance of logging into the other. Ie when FFXIV is offline for a evening.

Loved playing bst until they nerfed some stuff, like pets or mobs disappearing after a certain distance. Bst was the most fun for me sadly came to an end after they changed it all. None the less bst was great fun.

Didn't have to be a bst could just agro a gob have it chase you linking the rest then run and die beside someone or run back to kazzam then zone and watch them kill any afkers or party camps that couldn't deal with them or not paying attention. I liked killing rmters either by when their members get charmed any you start killing them while they frantically typing phuck off in very bad English or mpking with stoneskin blink and warp

Why do people keep saying this as if it's at all relevant these days? Sure, SE made a ton of money on it in the past, but that doesn't mean it's still raking in tons of cash for them today.

Well at arr launch the xi servers were running at only 200-300 ppl at peak times but now we are hitting 1k+ again. So yes SE is still making a good chunk of change of xi.

Because when XIV came out their was a discount for playing both games. This ended when XIV went free to play.

No, no, no. It ended some weeks before old FF XIV got shutdown forever. FF XIV never went f2p, it got an extended free month from first launch 2010 until p2p start january 2012.

It seems the FF XI discount during FF XIV p2p was only for 3 month

Coming from another angle, I would gladly have paid a few more bucks more had SE found a way to connect both 11 and 14 as one world/parallel world via moghouses as originally envisioned.

Ya but sadly they ran into a issue that did not allow you to jump from ffxi to ffxiv. I guess they could do it if both games was running in the same engine but sadly there not.
