    Speed runs aren't representative of class or job viability. 4-mans can be cleared by any set up within the tank/healer/2DPS spectrum. 8-mans encourage balanced parties to get the most bang for your buck. I'd say the approach the game has taken to that has done well enough.

    The game is as bland as you let it get, as uniqueness will always be trumped by functionality and balance at the end of the day. If you get bored because you have no one to purposely exclude from content, then I think you have bigger problems than whether the game is bland or not.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    I did not say if classes aren't able to do super fast speed run they're not viable, as a matter of fact I stated in the second sentence the dungeon could be done by any other job. The point was that certain jobs will be preferred over other jobs depending on what the objective is, and more than often the objective is success in the least amount of time. Therefore there is not much of a point to take uniqueness out of a job in fear that people would always choose said job over another, when it happens either way.

    Things like Monk being able to do that extra damage to skeletons or piercing does more damage to birds is what would give game flavor, imo, and wouldn't hurt the game. I just think there's more flavor and depth that can be implemented without the fear that it'll lock out other jobs to contents. More than likely it won't happen though, oh well no hurt in wishful thinking.

    And that isn't a good thing? In 1.0 i had to beat 80% of the content with blm (job i hated) because it was the only right answer. Every melee was so penalized they were completely useless and the game was basicly BLM fantasy.FFXI was even worst. Is that a good thing to you ?
    I'll support job diversity in every other offline game, but no more in a MMO:if i like to play a certain class, i don't want to be forced to don't do it. The entire argument "but this game allow you to play all jobs at once, so just switch" it's faulty when personal preferences come in play
