That's not true. I oppose most of the features from FF11 people ask for but recently someone posted 5 things from FF11 and how he'd implement it in FF14. I thought two of them were really good. I still opposed the three others. One of them was a new way to do HNM by having regular mobs drop an item when enough of these are collected you could spawn an instance ala Chimera for your group to fight it. I agreed with that one. Another one was "Add an update that adds five levels and fight uber hard mobs you must fight in a group. The five levels should take weeks of hardcore grinding in order to hit the level." I opposed of this idea.

Most of the features people ask to bring over from FF11 would change FF14's core design and focus. Anything that involves heavy experience grinding is fought against. People are opposed to this. Anything that requires standing around for hours in order to claim a certain mob that spawns at a set interval is opposed to. When people suggest there should be items that take 3 months to a year in order to obtain.. this is opposed to. People also disagree with having to carry around and switch around multiple sets of gear. The problem is this game has attracted a certain demographic and that certain demographic doesn't like most of FF11's features. You mention that many features in other mmo's are celebrated. This is because those features fit well here and many old school features do not.

This game may take some aspects of FF11 but it will never take many of them. This game will never heavily resemble FF11. I do not want forced grouping. I do not want to grind for hours on end. I don't want to keep switching gear depending on the encounter. I don't want to stand around relying on a claimbot in order to grab a certain "mob" first. I don't want to spend months to years in order to hit level cap and I don't want to take years in order to get a certain piece of gear. In fact, I'm already opposed to the gating for mythic gear. It already takes too long to get my mythic set. Is it bad enough to make me quit? No, but taking 3+ months to complete a full set of gear when I play regularly is a bit much. Yet some people ask for that time to be doubled or even quadrupled.

Thanks for those who agreed that the game DID INDEED LAUNCH with 12 jobs.

    Where this game did not.

    No excuses.

Please guys, stop white knighting this game. It's pathetic.

    SE and the monkey route

Seems because of the fail and hard critique FFXIV received from 2010, SE lost faith in their creative department and started listening to players from other MMOs and started outsourcing.

Isn't it like that everywhere now? Nothing new or original, just recycled ideas...

    Solution for change:
Make expansions DLC and part of major updates w/o paying for them(mostly because of the PlayStation 4 Pluz Membership).
    Why PAY??
MMO expansions are over-rated, stacking the cost of subscription and now having access to online play with the PS4(and soon the lolXboxOne).

Don't we deserve discounts for the very least? We all could use a TAX-cut.

Remember, Your ISP wants your money...
You electric company wants your money...
    Sony wants your money...
    SE wants your money...
    I want your moneyz,
plz gimmi gimmi gimmi (though I don't think I've earned it enough) ;P

FFXI came to NA with RotZ and 15 jobs. It's pretty simple to look this information up.

Hasn't it been stated more than once there are no plans to bring this game to the XBOne due to issues with Microsoft?

Personally I have no problem paying for an expansion. A full storyline, massive expansion of the world, and all the other bonuses that can be expected from an expansion are certainly worth an additional one time fee of $30-40.

I would also expect expansions as DLC only to be an option (possibly $30 for DLC only and $40 if you want the "boxed" version?).

C'mon PSxpert, I've seen you act the fool all over the FFXI forums. I know you're capable of doing better work than this. If you're going to complain about something at least complain about things that are accurate instead of spreading mis-information.

I would like to add though, that all the new dungeons are probably precursor grinds to the new CT then Coil floors. I'm sure they will fix the whole CT not gating Coil progression thing. Would be nice to see in 2.2. In further expansions I don't see them straying from the same concept.

I still don't even get what the whole problem is. so, FFXI had more classes. now what? half of them were considered 'inferiour' or only worth something at a certain point (hello red mages!), or they were plain changed into a different role to be worth something (hello ninja!)

do you honestly want that in FFXIV??? don't get me wrong, I love variety, but only when executed well. (though of course the 'worth it' part is largely the community's fault and not directly Square's, they did cater to it)

They should have two jobs for every class. Though the classes themselves seem rather pointless. Anywho, two jobs per class with opposing roles. Though, once again, due to their armory system, any new job would possibly be restricted to what weapon it used and what role it performed. They could do something to replace this, but who knows. The Cross Class Skills are pretty lame. Any job that came off of Gladiator would be able to tank so it would have to be a tank. If you made a DPS class come from Gladiator, it would still have all the tank and +enmity abilities. Kind of a dead end. They could add new classes. But that would make everyone go back to level 1 and start again, in a game that is completely alt unfriendly. As is, this game seems like a huge mess.

That doesn't really work, seeing as what drove me from WoW was their shit lore development (their new expansion is going to blantantly do the temporal paradox thing while entirely pissing on established contenttions of how paradoxes work due to a flimsy "itz ok gaiz itz an altrenat3 un1verce" excuse), and uncalled for class changes (paladins ruined in cataclysm, warrior tanking ruined in MoP simply because they copy-pasted DK active mitigation on ALL tank classes for no reason). And funilly enough, the lore had a bigger hand in me hitting the cancel account button.

At least I can expect SE to put a little more effort in their story. We'll see how ARR is like a couple of years down the line, but I'm at least not getting that feeling of dread I used to every time Blizzard mentioned they had plans to do something to the lore. (then again, we do have a Lightning-centered event going on, but I'm hoping that mimics a bowel movement and simply passes and fades from memory).

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:

Yes, I agree about CT/Coil. This is, as we know, a situation that results from CT not making it for release, and I suppose they postponed CT because, as it comes from FF III (hug fan-service in an out of itself), they just wanted to get it absolutely right (in terms of lore/design/etc.)

However only 2 raids in terms of environment (again, lore, landscape, etc) is going to get old sooner rather than later, thus I suppose they'll stick with this for 2.x but entirely new raids would come for 3.x, if only for diversity.
