I will still call it tombs.
1) Keep repeating the same few areas for them
2) Markets destroyed, since my income comes from mats.
3) The high cost of Myth tomes and low cap.
Its driving me to my "Grave".

Tome and tomb are both (basically) pronounced the same way. Tombstone is a word outside of this game, tomestone is not (as someone earlier pointed out). I can easily see why people go with tomb if not reading carefully (our mind does kind of "autocorrect for us a lot). Really not that big of a deal to me.

tomb t oo mb
Im sorry what?
I'm sorry, not exactly the same way, but close enough to the same that they can easily be read the same way when taking the entire "tomestone" word into account. Much the same way your brain will miss extra an extra "the" in a sentence, or be able to read a word with the letters all jumbled, as long as the first and last letter are the same. Since the whole word is "tomestone" and can easily be mistaken using that logic for "tombstone".. the shortened version becomes tomb. Again, not really that big of a deal.
