This angers me so very much. The Valor head is *amazing* and the chest is meh, but the Allagan chest drops in t1. The Warrior chest is amazing and the head is meh, but the Allagan helm drops in t5. It doesn't help that Curtana has an amazing distribution with the Holy Shield being meh, but the Allagan shield drops in t1 also. Bravura and Allagan axe both have bad distributions (parry/skill speed on Bravura and acc/determination on Allagan).

PLD really is a lot easier to gear up than WAR is, and it's annoying as hell, especially as someone that plays both regularly.

Main body pieces I would recommend are:

    Myth Feet - Accuracy
    Myth Helm - Skill Speed
    Bravura + 1 - Skill Speed
Allagan Body - More Accuracy than Myth Body

The rest of the body pieces will just be preference, or luck on drops/myth tokens.
Accessory wise, I would recommend pieces with Skill Speed, Accuracy and STR.

It would be decent to get your GCD down to 2.38s. That way when you have to use up your Wrath, you can get it back faster.

If you're just going for Myth/Allagan Accessories I'd say Hero's Neck of Fending and Hero's Ring of Slaying are ones to save for.

Gryphonskin with melds. Spend your myth tomes on armour.

I would say before everyone goes out and drops a ton of Gil on Gryphonskin - we wait to see what the changes are actually going to be. Essentially, if they made our HP pool more recoverable - i.e. - Healing buff from wrath gets increased to 25%, Storms path actually becomes useful, etc. - We may see a shift in BiS for warrior. Remember, Death Sentence will destroy you and Parry, although awesome, is a gamble. I'd love to be able to sit at that 8.7ish K with full myth/allagan/af if I knew it could actually be healed up. That being said, I'd bank up the tomes for pieces and sitting on Animal Fat isn't the worst thing ever - you can always sell it later! The Gryphonskin Accessories are also AWESOME for just about every Disciple of war with a few Re-melds. They're a good investment as long as you can do it comfortably, but I wouldn't kill myself to get them just yet!

So, would it be terrible if you already spent the tomes for the myth chest? I feel like I made a mistake. I don't go into coil often as my FC raids during my bedtime (work 3rd shift) but they do call on me from time to time for the lower coils. Any suggestions there? I was thinking the myth helm, as I just wanted out of that tin can and threw on the hoplite.

I probably wouldn't have gotten the chest first since it drops from turn 1 - But I certainly wouldn't feel bad about it if you're not regularly jumping into coil. I don't like the stats on the War helm personally, but it is a safe purchase and is a rather large Vit Upgrade - especially considering where the Allagan Helm Drops. (I got it as well!)

    Edit:

Not to mention being able to /visor. YEAH FINAL FASHION 14

Thank you for the reply, 2.1 hasn't dropped yet so its still much time to keep farming myth and what not. I rarely go into coil as is, I mean I beat Cedecus once thats often I go, so I guess an upgrade is an upgrade.

No problem! I'd say continue filling out your left side of gear for the time being in the chance that Gryphonskin is still the way to go come 2.1 - You've already got your +1 and that's great! I'm the MT for my group and I've made some choices I didn't want to make - such as not having +1 - simply out of the fact I need to play Paladin for ease of progression. To put it simply, a Warrior's back is no where near as big as a paladins :P I bought gear that could be used on both classes simply to have a decent set for each. I play warrior as much as possible and it's going to break my heart if 2.1 doesn't deliver.

Make your weapon pink, get your ring, get the wrists, then start buying filler pieces (if the chest dropped for you get the helm etc).

I would hold onto/upto 825 myth at all times so when you get that drop in coil it doesn't totally suck by having to pair it with a hoplite/militia piece (being able to do this is going to matter more than just straight up buying the body/helm/whatever first and hoping the other piece drops for the next 2-3 weeks).

With 3 of the 5 allagan pieces having similar stats as WAR myth you really won't notice the difference regardless of what you pick, not to mention you can clear 4 of 5 turns in Full Darklight, Relic, and going full attributes in STR with little trouble.
