The main story was devoid of cinematics, cut scenes, or even any artistic direction. The main story is important, so if they aren't doing it there then they probably wont be doing it anywhere else. I think all that died with 1.0 ... along with the good story, graphics, music, animations XD ... i'm learning to live with it. Trying to anyway. ;p ... But i think the fate event turned out how i thought it would. I also warned my friends that it would probably be a mess like odin or behemoth so they would be ready.
The mess ups on the mass player events reminds me of certain 1.0 events as well, like the atomos one ... and the final day. I hope they fix it again soon, and this time for good. ;p
I honestly just hope things spread out a bit as the event draws out.... also it's good to see that Petyr Winsome survived The Calamity, can't wait to see Dural Tharal and Kipih Jakkya again =^-^=

Odin and Behemoth fates (and any busy fate) have major issues with culling, SE mentions a fix is coming (were still waiting), proceeds to add a world event thats accessible to even more people before deploying a fix.
I get it, I really do. But come one... add up the factors together and figure it out for yourself. FATES are always overpopulated, this causes lag. They made an event that is based off of FATE which was not a surprise, but announced quite some time ago. THere are even more people doing this because of brand notoriety.
What do you expect? no problems at all with lag? The reason this FATE based event is extended until 12/9/13 is so that people have time to do it at their leisure. I don't understand why people complain when their are issues with lag during a massive FATE event.
Before you go and say I'm White Knighting, i agree with Nuinn... Why they would choose FATEs as a means to employing this event, i don't know. They did however give us TIME (the event lasts until 12/9) to let the crowds clear and do it with less traffic.
Its not the lag or the spamming of aoe's or any of that disappointed me about this event, but lack of any unique to do, its always the same with SE, fate gives u item, trade item for another item, walk around for a day with it on, then put in retainer...
Give us costume slots, to wear this cool looking gear over our lvl 50 end game gear, i know no one likes to say this but i had much more fun in world of warcrafts events.
I mean could u even see Lightning? i saw white chat box with her talking but god knows if she was actually standing there or not
Fate just aren't working the way they should, and making such a high profile event based on two low level fates is pretty bad design if they're aiming to tell a story or amaze and inspire their fans. I did manage to get in a couple fates where there weren't so many people that Lightning was visible, but the overall design of what we have thus far is incredibly lackluster, and it's just an overall series of design flaws.
From using fates (and especially the fates they chose to use), to weapon design (Some of them were rushed or done poorly and it shows), to the usefulness of the vanity items in general. I mean, I've cleared part 1 and gotten all the weapons and I'm just not nearly as impressed as all the buildup would have suggested.
But hey, gunblade.
1/4th of the event has been up for 6+ hours -> Labeled a complete and total failure.
