Hate paying for PvE,Quitting, is my acct safe ?

PvP goes beyond gear in lots of MMO.

PvP in ARR will be 30 40 and 50 probably with level sync or restrictions.

PvP is usually about skill and gear just acts as something that pushes extra damage and mitigation. But gear unless severely outgeared plays less a factor than skill.

I am a firm believer that PvP will be fine a year from now.

They should probably just rip the whole system from SWTOR. I've never been a fan of large scale PvP, nor Arena style PvP. The 8 player TOR Warzones were (to me at least) just right.

1) if you think they learned notihng then you clearly never played 1.0.
2) we don't know when the later pvp content is coming out but it's a safe bet it's not wicked soon.
3) their act is already together. It's not SE's fault that most people want to play DPS. You're level 30, do the sch job quest and play sch, and you won't have to wait quite as long. But if you really want to avoid wait times, then
4) you're not playing a single player RPG. If PvE doesn't appeal to you, you're playing the wrong game. Even though I'm excited for PvP and have higher hopes for it than most people around here, it's still not ever going to be the biggest thing in the game.

As far as your question if you're not playing it then of course its safe.

PvP at least give ya a goal to work toward. It gives ya something to do.. Your PvE ends. I mean you spend all your time getting the best equips and crafting for what ?? So you can sit and wait for an expansion giving you more PvE content ... ?

1-12 huh...not sure if anyone has pointed this out to you yet, but if you did in fact play XI you *did* pay a monthly fee. Better yet, odds are you paid more for that than you did for XIV, since it's a base 15bucks I think? and 1 dollar per char after? Been awhile since I've been billed for XI lol. Also, fully agree with you being in the wrong game, FF has *always* been story based, not PvP....when you play past FF's, do you attack your own team for the PvP jollies?

I find it funny you have paid to play a PVE mmo with pvp as a side note. pvp will be arena at best a dungeon where you will compete against a small section of the community repeatedly. Whereas PVE will evolve and grow w/ tons of new content and areas to enjoy.

There is no like... final fantasy constitution that says there can't be pvp (or some kind of competitive, not really story driven mode *cough the card games, blitzball, etc*) in a final fantasy game.

PvP in this game is already a lot more than an amusement with gear rewards, skills and systems developed just for it, etc. Hell even FFXI has a new pvp mode that's taking off in Monstrosity.

Oh, don't forget the Dissidia games, which is all about random final fantasy characters battling eachother with no real story or plot whatsoever.

Firstly no one said ff can't have pvp. Secondly I think you missed the point... While what u say is true, buying a ff mmo FOR pvp is a huge mistake, and then getting mad about it is even more inexplicable. There is no denying this game is a story based pve mmo.

To be fair the question about his characters being safe is a fairly reasonable one. I know from shortly after US launch FFXI had a policy of not logging in a character for 90 days = character deletion, even though your account remained. I believe they later instituted an undeletion policy, but it could be a legitimate concern.

Generally thanks to the collectivist nature of Japanese culture, most of their games aren't PvP or aren't done well if they are, thus the impression that FF can't have good PvP, although I'm hoping this isn't true. I probably will never play the PvP since I don't enjoy it, but I still hope it's good for those who do like such things.
