SE's prolly just taken notice to forum posts much like this one, OP. It's *always* gonna be someone's prime time, somewhere. A valid solution to this, which I saw on another thread and can't recall *who* mentioned it :/, but solution was to put maintenance on a schedule rotation so that it would fall on say..our prime time tonight, and maybe next maintenance U.K.'s prime time etc. With how maintenance seems to be getting earlier, I think they may either be doing this...or just...making it earlier :/. I, myself, wouldn't mind seeing it on a rotation, as it seems the only fair way to keep from screwing people in prime time constantly.

And at any time of the day, there's somebody somewhere in school or working. They totally pick the mainteance times because they're singling YOU out and want to ruin YOUR day.

But seriously...Square-Enix is Japanese...Not to mention this game is being played WORLDWIDE. No matter what time they pick for maintenance, someone gets the shaft. Just accept it and move on. No matter what, someone loses out, so stop being self-entitled and accept it can only be fair to so many.

It's still a new game meaning there is still stuff to fix before the big content update.
Then they will be even more to fix. The life of an online game. Hey at least they are fixing it, right?

Really, another maintenance when I'm off work??? What coast are you catering to? I work noon to 8 pm, east coast (EC), and many others work between 6 am and 10 pm. We stay up late and play your stupid game for whatever reason and get shut down because you think after 11 pm EC is the perfect time to do a 5 hour maintenance. Do it while everyone is at work or in school. Is that so damn hard?? You have paying customers that you need to cater to, period. I don't think I'm out of line when I say that I speak for the working class and people attending classes. I don't know how it is in Japan but here in America, we work when it's time to work and stroke our Pokemon on my own time.

If you are upset like me and want SE to actually read this; like this post because I know they are to lazy to or too busy no given a damn to read a nobody's post. They sure as hell have never responded to a single one GM call.

Remember that really nasty exploit we had last week? Big deal you would agree right? Remember how they have a massive memory leak and tons of built up cache that has to be flushed every week?

Remember that Square Enix is a JAPANESE company and doesn't operate on PST or EST Times? Remember when there are game breaking bugs that need to be addressed and it's all hands on deck for the staff to iron out issues that may arise so you can play with as little downtime as possible? Remember how the World doesn't revolve around the United States?

I remember these things. I'll be your Square Enix IT historian for tonight's maintenance.

They don't operate on your time. They don't operate on mine. They are running this maintenance when their full staff is in the office and standing by to get their fixes done faster and try to get it done right. I'm sure you would do the same if you were in their position.

See it from the business end and not just a end user / consumerist angle. I'm sure if they could keep the servers up (to stop people from crying about it ALL THE TIME) they would. Not to sound like a jerk, but be grateful they are actively fixing bugs and not sweeping them under the rug.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea to put your maintenance on prime time just so that it's easier for your own maintenance schedule. As far as I can tell those maintenance time don't really benefit Euros, and Japanese are on their own server in theory. If other MMORPG operated on the same logic, then all US based MMORPG would have patch time at 1pm-5pm or so. Instead usually patch time is at 1am because they want to minimize disruption to their customer base as much as possible. The funny thing is that it'd be considerably less of a problem for Japanese guys to maintain server at 1am compared to any US based company, yet apparently US based companies have no problem getting up at 1am to do maintenance.
