While it is totally obvious that Tank is the easiest class to play on Titan...have fun just standing there on Bombs xD
I've gone on groups with just me, a tank, and 6 relic-holding dps, and watched them fail to kill heart. There's something really screwy about that part of the fight.
+:I'm tired of hearing people say "they're just bad." Losing to landslide...especially a laggy landslide...is fun as hell and never stops being hilarious. Losing to the heart phase is miserable. How about we stop saying everyone struggling with Titan is bad and accept that there's some weird over-the-top difficulty curve in it. I suspect that the fight is one of those trials that's supposed to force the players to learn how to play their classes better. But because there's no damage meter, no indication of how much a DPS should be contributing and how close or far they are to it, the DPS players don't get a chance to learn from their mistakes. If Square refuses to implement such a feature, then they should accordingly reduce the health of the heart.

While I agree that a DPS meter implemented into the game for direct feedback would be a good thing. A DPS meter is far from neccesarry for a player to improve and "learn their class". All it takes is reading the tooltips, figuring out what skills are actually worthwhile using by interpreting those tooltips and then work on a rotation that puts those abilities to maximum use. Everyone can do that on a Dummy in any City or in Coerthas^^
Most simple example...if you see a BLM "transposing" after he used up all of his MP for Fire...you know he doesn't know how to DPS right. If you have a BRD in group and you see Venomous and Wind Bite up on the boss/enemy very rarely or not at all...you know he is DPSing wrong.
And for anyone who doesn't have the mind-set or the "intelligence" to figure these things out themselves, there are Rotation and Skill Priority Guides all over the internet for every class. Even videos etc. It's not hard if you really want to, it's just that most people don't care about that kind of stuff and think as long as I hit some buttons I do my job, when they couldn't be farther away from it xD
A DPS meter would makt it just easier to call them out on the spot.
I haven't even downed him yet but MTed him about a dozen times in DF working on macros to help call out hit abilities to the team...
If you stand in the right place, his bombs don't hit you. So yep, the action taken is "just stand there." He doesn't even hit hard until he starts throwing mountain busters. As someone posted earlier in the thread, you basically stand there and hope hope hope the rest of the team doesn't screw up, and then watch as they break your heart instead of titan's.
ive already killed titan numerous times. But let me kind of tell you something that i notice more and more, the more i keep doing it.
If for some reason healers and BLM are dying....or even EVER getting hit by Weight of the Land plumes then there is a skill that they must be completely forgetting about.....SPRINT.
If you are a healer or a BLM, and you absolutely know Titans rotation of skills, and you know a Landslide, or a Plume is coming, for the love of god, push Sprint, there is no possible way you can ever fail to dodge Weight of the land, or landslideif you use sprint. The funny thing is, when you watch healers and BLM playing this fight.....THEY DONT USE IT, and then they run while in the middle of a heal, just a second too late, and BAM. And the only thing i ever keep thinking to myself is...."dude, you have sprint, why arent you hitting that shit when you know Plumes are coming, its going to last 20 seconds before it goes away, and you dont need TP ever, so WTF are you dying or taking dmg from Plumes or Landslide for in the first place. No excuse"

You have to position yourself right though to not get hit by the bomb. While it is retardedly easy before Heart Phase, after Heart Phase the positioning is cruel, since he does a MB right after, if you get hit by a bomb, MB can can kill you. And a lot of Tanks get hit by Bombs after Heart Phase cause they can't get the positioning right.I haven't even downed him yet but MTed him about a dozen times in DF working on macros to help call out hit abilities to the team...

Do both thanks to my fantasic FC and ls' I was able to defeat all 3 primal HM's back to back Titan we did have to leave instance and attempt a round 2 later on but after several wipes we had an epic win literally the tank and scholar left.
Secondly no need to nerf one of the few real challenges were 8 people have to work in perfect unison TOGETHER and after all is said and done the fight is still SCRIPTED

If 6 relic dps fail to break the heart, they are simply bad, plain and simple. If it's some melee players getting their first relic then yes it's understandable that they might not kill the heart for the first few tries due to the targeting, I had problem hitting the heart the first time I did it on my DRG coz I wasn't sure where to stand and kept getting target not in range.
I have all DPS classes at 50 and all of them are levelled through FATE except for DRG, for each class that hit 50 I'll go find a dummy, practice the rotation that I got from guide or friends that play that class and practice it. I can do good DPS on all of them even, it's not rocket science, all you need is to know your skills, some rotation guide and practice.
Me and my friend DF titan daily and sometimes when I feel like it I'll parse the fight, I am usually on my BRD and only a few times have I seen a parse where another relic+1 DPS higher than me, other times their DPS are so low I always wonder do they even learn how to play their class properly. If I go with my FC group all our DPS will be almost the same with geared ones being higher regardless of melee or range.
As for tank you can eat 1 bomb, just don't go and eat two bombs and you'll be fine, happens a lot when tank try to avoid the bomb and ended up eating 2 of them instead.
