It was the best fight in 1.0, I'm glad they are bringing it back.

Nightmares of getting blown to pieces by the BLM mog... back when there were no AoE markers!
Still looking forward to this fight though. Still need the monk weapon. And books <.<

So what's the point of this fight anymore? You can get a relic (better weapon than Mog) without ever touching Mog fight. Seems kind of pointless to add it back into the game when both the fight and drops are already massively outgeared.
Yeah I agree, the reverse progression is dumb for sure especially with CT, but I enjoyed the fight and I always wanted a Mog-Bow, it never dropped for me in 1.0, one of the few missing for me, I collect them so...

I'm sorry, progression what?
The point of the fight is that it's fun... remember that word?
i really like the music i can't wait to fight him lol

That's a red herring.
The point is progression isn't a requirement for one's enjoyment. You and Kiroh were asking for the point of the fight - and referencing that there was no gear progression as your reason for it being devoid of one.
The answer is that the fight, and to better extent the game itself, is meant for enjoyment, not to merely placate one's ego. This means somethings are not going to be about gear progression or linear progress.

If King Moogle Mog is a fate, I will cry.
He was tied for my favourite fight from 1.0. You could totally faceroll him with the right party, but that didn't change how fun the fight was. Chaotic, a DPS race, and strategic as killing order mattered. It's where the XIV community discovered the greatness of Monk Stances and the usefulness of Shadowbind.
I still remember the first time I solo-WHMd the fight, and it was a thrilling experience.
Fights in general are always more enjoyable when you can actually get something out of them i.e. loot you can use and such, backwards progression like getting a Mog Weapon when you have relic is silly, I however as a collector will do the fight simply to collect them but it's silly that the fight and CT weren't implemented to begin with. That's a red herring.
