Ps3 users severely hindered. no k/m support.. Any news on this?

But the PS3 CAN handle the game. Its just not perfect.

I know that I'm pretty happy that I canplay the game on my PS3.

not sure what class you play or if there is a newer version of ps3 that handles better but- being a tank on the system an trying to switch between mobs frantically, mark efficiently, ETc.. is impossible without the use of TONS of macros and even then- it is not the same as you dont want to always launch 10 lines of code if you need only 1 line in the middle of it(( ie; 6 spell chain, all 5 on cooldown except 1)

Except not? KB/M worked perfectly on PS3 during the beta test (phase 3).

Really ? they had the UI mode of a PC version?

Get a Seagate Momentus XT for your PS3. I got mine recently since I won't have a PS4 anytime soon (nor will FF14 be on it until later next year) and the 2.1 content makes me wary until then. It made a very very significant difference for playing the game for me.

Hasn't bothered me too much in all honesty. It's a SSD+HDD hybrid that I got around $80 refurbished at 750GB. Makes the game load much faster in comparison to the stock PS3 HDD.

I don't know about you, but being a tank isn't quite as stressful as being a healer and I do that just fine on a PS3 using just a controller. In fact, only time I've ever used a macro on a combat class was when I Bard'd Dhorme Chimera just so I could put a sound effect on Blunt Arrow. I've done near every dungeon on a PS3 using Dragoon, Bard and White Mage with hardly any trouble in targeting and using actions. I don't get the love affair people have with keyboard and mouse. I mean, keyboard I use but just for chat and I don't even use a mouse with my computer, I prefer trackballs. I don't feel hindered in the slightest and don't miss anything from the PC version. Mayhaps instead of trying to beat a console down for not being a PC, why not consider that some people just know how to use it and some don't.

Tanking with a controller is no where near as difficult as you want to make it seem.

Yes, I can't just click on a mob to target it like I would with a mouse, but its certainly not impossible to do on a controller, hell, its not even hard to do on a controller. Not even sure why you believe there's a need for "tons of macros" either. Just get used to switching between cross-bars.

In my opinion, it was foolish to think the PS3 would be on equal grounds. But with the upgrade to my PS3, the only short-coming I can point out is the inferior graphics (which still look great, and the upgrade stopped all the texture popping). I'm 100% comfortable and confident in the PS3 controls, I would actually do worse to play with K+M at this point. It just takes a bit of customization, especially in target filtering.
