Anyone Else Waiting on 2.1?

I'm in a rutt myself I really like the Warrior but when compared to PLD its just like no, how is it a PLD can go in AF gear into Titan HM and tank just fine but when me who has full DL gear get dropped faster than a rock tied to a 100 weight ton. As a result we have to do more or put more stress onto the healer that even for one second the healer aint healing the WAR they'll drop everyone assures me that WARs are viable up to t4 but all the warriors faults are just showing more promiently me the farther i move up.

I don't want to give up but the same time i just want to give up, and right now I just feel like giving up. Maybe its just me and my own fault and not tanking properly, i do not lose aggro as thats not the problem but keeping myself alive, I just don't know anymore.

As much as i love my war, i can only think of one thing when people say that it doesnt need tweaking because it CAN do everything. You can bite down on your steering wheel and drive home with your mouth, does that mean you should? I refuse to level pld because im holding out for changes, but sometimes i absolutely feel like i make the coil more punishing for my group than it should be. I dont think there is a single warrior that can honestly say that runs wouldnt be much easier if they were on PLD. Now once your group is to the level when you are owning coil, it doesnt matter either way, but for groups still working on their first wins, it is a hurdle.

2 runs later I had gotten smoked down to 0hp by a couple of triumvirates in a row for 5k each

5K Triumverate? Was this after the dps failed to kill the wyvern and you were naked?

Granted I am one of those op PLD types but 5k? That's enormous.

I'll admit, I'm rather envious of paladin's mitigation, but I'm one of those people who played warrior to play warrior. I didn't pick it to tank, it just so happened that warrior was a tank. Be patient! If you look at it this way, you can only get 300 myth per week, assuming we get 2.1 in early december, that's only 4-5 weeks. That's enough to get some AF2 armor and maybe another piece or two depending on how lazy or productive you feel like being. Another suggestion that was already made was gearing your pally and warrior in two different areas(coil and myth). That's actually a very swell idea, I'd go with that if I were you... or just stick to warrior. Game ain't worth playing if you're not having fun, right?

THIS! The gap between "can" and "efficient" is simply to great. For those of us who have tanked in many MMO's - we realize that WAR may be incredibly gratifying to play compared to PLD, but PLD is just outright better. Anything else is simply restricting the ease of play for your entire group. And please note, this is coming from a MT who's favorite turn is turn 2 - simply because I can slap on my giant axe and beat around little orbs on WAR without significantly straining my group.

Uhh, at that point I was pretty heavily focused on my HP, but it was within 10% of starting the fight, so I don't think so. I think it was partially bad luck, but still...

Yup - I honestly don't see anything but a pure mitigation tank ever being the "go-to" tank. I decided to spend some myth on my PLD, btw. I still have my relic'd war that I do lower level dungeons with new FC guys and AK non-speed runs with, but that relic is mostly for show, now. Single tanking Garuda is just too easy as a PLD compared to WAR. If 2.1 comes and WAR turn out to be all our dreams come true...there's always Allagan : D
