Do you even know how strong the Blizzard Community is?! i dont think so, These are Hardcore Fans, which SE lost with the Last FF series they released lol.
You seriously have no idea that S/E was never attempting to par with Blizzard isnt it? They never forecasting their playerbase to pass 1M to begin with, their goal is primary a replacement after FF11 is done. FF11 is nevertheless, best selling FF title. Yeah, they gain more from FF11 than legendary FF7.

Thos new mmos you refers as "challenge", you probably want to use it against Blizzard and they are apparently struggling with WoW atm. Blizzard is so desparte now that they are trying to bring back a TBC wanna be expansion because that is the only expansion people really enjoyed. Time travelling? I just want to yell WTF? Bring back Illidan and Kael'thas? Warlord of Dreanor? What a joke...

Even the fact that People only enjoyed TBC doesnt automatical mean they dont going to try the new one, best examples are WoTLK,Cata and MoP alot People went back when they were released.

You ever asked yourself why so much Sandbox MMOrpgs coming up next?

Do you think that Yoshi will tell you whats their Plan? You can just imagin like i do. S/E wants something from the "big Cake" instead of sticking with the FF Verterans they made this game so wow-like to invite even MORE Subscribers just to make Money? but you are right they dont wanna mess with Blizzards WoW. (thats why we have 80% WoW, 10% FF and 10% other Stuff)

WoW's problem is that they pingpong between wtf-hard and rofl-easy, and they do this deliberately. Game gets easy and people leave. I played in TBC and Wrath and enjoyed both. Cata came out, and they gutted healing (made all healers the same with different spell names) and I just couldn't even want to play.

I would believe that this game wasn't trying to take subs from Blizzard if they didn't try to make the game like Warcraft. I'm not even saying clone, I'm just saying it's where they picked up the most influence.

Seriously, this isn't FFXI v2, but if they wanted something to take XI's place when it dies, they had a comfortable (at XIV's initial release) chunk of loyal players that would have come over. I think one reason people stayed with XI for so long is because it was one of the last "different" games. Everything else at or above XI's quality was 1,2,3 combo game. Everything.
