Authenticators is a false sense of security. If you're specifically targeted they can session hijack you quite easily and this isn't a fault with SE's, it's a fault with authenticators in general.

I highly doubt that authenticators have anything to do with this security breech. I also doubt that this is the work of RMT.

I think its a pissed off computer savvy guy who just framed one of the most known rmt because the Ban Hammer came down on hima few days ago, just a guess.

That's what I was thinking. I assumed that it was probably a frustrated gil seller acting out as retaliation for having so many accounts banned.

Most likely scenario (assuming it's not RMT which it most likely is): one of the no-lifers who got their gil taken in that wave a few weeks back and actually has the time/inclination to do something like this.

At least IMHO.
