YES!!!! I love the reply to all the post.
Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn is a great game and isn't failing, however the Company Square-Enix IS in fact failing "Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn" with it's lack of service and utter moronic restrictions and actions.

Honestly? People may not agree with me, but I'd rather them take the game down for an entire day to fix this, than be in fear of loosing all that gil.
I know it's fake money but it was hard earned by myself and thousands of players, and having some (insert as many bad words here as you like) people think it is their right to break into code or whatever and do this is unacceptable.
Tell Square Enix how you feel about their Customer Service. Their survey link is found here: http://tinyurl.com/SquareEnixSurvey
Well, at the moment, the game is down indefinitely. Which is fine with me, as long as they fix things. I'm sure we will be brought up to speed soon enough; until then, I have other games I can play.Honestly? In any case, they should have declared the correct time before they took the servers down. Even a 5 minute or 3 minute warning would have been done better than 43 minute sudden reboot and booting ppl out when they intended to do it earlier than the announced time. It's not bright with their execution this time.New post from Yoshi-P posted on the Lodestone. Good Explanation.

Hopefully they would address this matter in the future.

Current Security Issue and Action From This Point for Market (Nov. 8)
Here is a message from Producer/Director Yoshida regarding the current security issue and action that will be taken from this point on for Market.
-------------------
This is Producer/Director Yoshida.
This is a thread, but I would like to mention the current situation and actions that we are going to take from this point on.
First of all, a few hours ago, we have received several reports about fraud in certain features of the Market operated by an outside source.
There are not many reports of casualties due to this, but to prevent any further cases, we performed an emergency maintenance.
We apologize for the inconvenience and that this has affected many of our players.
We are verifying the data and promise that everything will be kept safe.
This issue can only be seen in certain Worlds, Zones and circumstances, so it will not affect players that are not logged in.
Once we resolve the issue and assure the safety of the situation, alongside the recovery of the game, we will take action towards the outside fraud source and take security countermeasures.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused.
-------------------
We are not planning to do any sizable data roll backs at this time for this case.
We are basically planning to correspond to the players whose data was affected.
We have obtained information of the route and IP address of the source and we are planning to take legal actions of this fraud.

Normally I would agree with you but not in this case. This is a separate issue from the 1 that necessitated the scheduled Maintenance. The second they confirmed the hack SE had no choice but to immediately shut down the servers to protect privileged information. I applaud them for this.In any case, they should have declared the correct time before they took the servers down. Even a 5 minute or 3 minute warning would have been done better than 43 minute sudden reboot and booting ppl out when they intended to do it earlier than the announced time. It's not bright with their execution this time.
Hopefully they would address this matter in the future.
Edit: We do not know the full extent of the hack. The only thing we can be sure of is that SE confirmed that the market boards were compromised. We are not sure if the servers containing account information (including CC data) was hacked. SE will not know til they do a full investigation. Taking the servers down right away was the correct move even if it inconvenienced people in game.

To those poor souls that were mid-craft while making a gryphonskin ring or something similar..
A couple of minutes warning would have been nice instead of a sudden "panic button" switch.
I'm sure it wouldn't have been hard to take the market / retainer servers down, or at least a global server message telling people to stay away from the market/retainer before maint..

One of the biggest issue I've seen with this game is the developer team being unable to make any changes to the game while the game is on line. If there was a problem with WoW's auction house, the AH would be taken down. Obviously this hack needed to have a maintenance to fix. But taking the AH down and notifying the players would have been a better course of action. If individual aspects of this game cannot be manipulated while the game is online, SE should take a look at their programming as online hotfixes and micromanaging the different aspects of the game are expected in modern MMORPGs. This is the first time I'm posting anything negative about the game on these forums as I'm going to be sticking here for quite a while, but constant maintenances are becoming a problem, especially when they're for a service (World Transfer) that doesn't affect game play. Hearing things like "that might be too much data to send to the client" or "we can't get that fix in because of how the developer's test version is handled" is very discouraging and makes it seem like this programming staff is brand new to online gaming.

yeah that is kinda bothersome considering they could do this on XI since the AH was on its own servers for each world and it has been that way since very early on in the game. that game is 11 years old. why is it that it's Auctionhouse can be taken down without taking the whole game but the market board in XIV cannot? just doesnt make sense they didn't make it this way when they re-zoned the entire gameOne of the biggest issue I've seen with this game is the developer team being unable to make any changes to the game while the game is on line.
