TYVM Bladeglory.....there ya go ppl...the official cause for the big dropoff the planet today. A little slow, but yeah, when ya got all these people to fix, I don't blame them for being a little slow on the post...more important to pull the trigger so to say and get the fix rolling.....glad I'm not doing their software maintenance....this is all the more reason I'm glad I got my degree in hardware.....software side of things is a bloody nightmare at times...makes my mental server overheat, lol :P

I bet SE were already aware of this exploit and were planning to address it with today's announced maintenance.

The RMTs realized their precious server exploit would be gone and rushed to steal as many Gil as possible in those 1-2 hours before the scheduled maintenance which forced SE's hand to bring the servers down earlier than announced.

And the SE vs. RMT battle rages on...

There isn't any 'end' time currently as of now (just checked the announcement). Seeing as its something pretty severe...I won't be surprised if its a whole day thing.

As this is a security issue on their end it could take a while for them to investigate and develop the proper corrective action. It depends on how sophisticated the hacking was and what actions are needed to prevent a recurrence. If it takes a number of hours to protect our accounts I am all for it.

What sucks is we had my friend on his Titan win in over 100 tries for him we had Titan him to like 2 percent and it logged us all off he's prob cursing and throwing stuff.

I came here because I was bummed about the maintenance disconnecting me during a 2 star craft and costing me hundred of thousands of gils but I didn't know that there was such a serious hacking incident going around. Scary.

Its a good thing too. Considering what was going one with the gil exploit. I'm glad they took it down ASAP. Minimize the damage.
