Just to confirm, so far all those effected were in Limsa Lower Decks, and were online. PS3 and PC players both effected. All gil taken was out of your character, gil in retainer is safe? Was there anything else in common, like time in zone, or if you engaged in a trade in zone earlier.

We should recommend to our FC and linkshell mates to store the majority of their gil in retainer?

For real? That's unacceptable, even F2P games have to kind of systems.

This just happened to me.

1. Fighting Garuda HM when computer crashed.
2. Try logging back in, get 3102 error.
3. Manage to log in after approximately 3 minutes.
4. In party with FC members trying to queue for Garuda, wouldn't work.
5. Teleport party to Limsa Lominsa aetheryte.
6. Exit game and log back in. Everything works.
7. Die in Garuda HM multiple times. Exit duty finder.
8."Not close enough to make purchase" pops up on screen near aetheryte in Limsa Lominsa.
10. Walk towards market area to check retainer.
11. Chat log suddenly says I purchased one bone chip.
12. Look at my gil and realize 5 million gil was missing.
13. Players in the area are also experiencing the same thing.

I highly doubt this incident is something worth rerolling servers for.

From what I gather, some people in Ul'dah got hit as well. But i cannot confirm as it is just what i have heard from others.

So that's why I thought it odd I only had like 11k gil left. I didn't lose millions but I had more than 11k for sure haha.

Here's one thing I noticed on everyone's experience so far and a general tip for everyone....

DO NOT GO WITHIN THE "CLICKABLE" VICINITY OF THE MARKET BOARDS. Avoid the areas where you're 100% sure that you're going to pass MB for the meantime.

If you're going to try to leave your gil to your retainers, do it in the inn room because there's no MB nearby the Inn.

I think the gil on retainer is safe. I keep most of my gil on my retainers and I was getting the "insufficient Gil" message, but all the gil on my retainer is still there.
