I want to free my chocobo's wings. Be free, chocobo!

Today I saw someone running on their company issued chocobo and noticed that the chocobo's wings were not pinned underneath the body piece of its armor. So when the player jumped, it's wings would still flap. I am however 100% positive that the body piece of his chocobo barding was equipped.

Is there some sort of setting that makes this possible?

I prefer when my chocobo's wings are free, allowing them to flap when we jump.

Silly, I know, but this is a serious post. Can anyone provide some info on this?

I am also a legacy player. . . this was not the player's legacy Chocobo; I have one too. It was his company issued chocobo.

It might have just been the type of Barding used, do you know what kind it had on?

My chocobo used to not flap its wings. After I beat Odin and dressed it in Sleipnir barding, it does flap its wings. That's all the info I got. :/

With barding your Chocobo won't flap his wings. Without Barding your chocobo flaps his wings. Easy as that.

Well that would depend on the barding. Because as I said, it flaps its wings using Sleipnir barding.

In the chocobo screen, the one where you can use points to teach you chocobo moves, there should be a set of three boxes near the bottom right which indicates the gear your chocobo is wearing. I think if you click on them a list will show up of the various chocobo gear you can equip. There should be a choice of "Remove" or "None." Remove the body piece.

If they are flapping their wings freely we should be able to glide across canyons. Chocobos could fly in FF tactics too if I recall lol.

Only colored chocobo's could fly in Tactics. Red and black, I believe. Yellow could only walk. In FF4 black ones could also fly. In FF6 there were only yellow running chocobos. In FF7, none 'flew', but the gold choco could walk over any terrain in the game (even stuff that didn't make sense). But FF7-10 were mediocre anyways, so I like to refer to the older ones.
