XIV:ARR what SE could change to make the XI Playerbase more Happy

Not angry at all. In fact I'm still subcribed and enjoying it for the time, I've just been down this path before countless other times, and its always the same. You're no different then the others who carry the torch of denial held high. I can't say I'm surprised its easier for you to try and put me into whatever category you assume i fall in due to lack of better understanding... Its usually the kind of reaction I'm used too. (Plus I've mentioned in like 3 posts here alone and acknowledge FFXIV is currently a success, but That I believe it will be short lived)

Its such a simple concept. FFXIV's current subcription success stemming from a well established series and an existing established MMO, Therefor its first couple months will be well boosted due to the trust of the company and brand. But if you just want to drop the ad hominim attacks and fall out like this is a victory for you, go ahead, it'll be a graceful exit and i won't hold it against you in the future, cause I can safely say I understand how it feels to be in your shoes. Been there done that.

Its always the same outcome when confronted with differing opinions, its just a shame, ya know?

I know, it's hard to admit there's a possiblity you might be completely wrong about what you're saying. It's the internet after all. But the facts about FFXIV's history and current situation don't support your claim.

What the heck DCUO? Also, Consoles is going to help this game as much as it helped FFXI, thats for sure. But is a Console release and Established Brand name truly enough to make an otherwise rather generic and Copy>Pasted MMO success in a market riddled with failures? You, you seem to be almost refraining from the belligerent babble... Please do continue to retort, I do actually like tackling your points cause they're actually legitimate differences, Some of which I've overlooked . I know this sounds sarcastic, but its not

If I'm wrong it'll just be all the better for me cause I dearly want to be wrong... When i first heard about ARR after XIV's failures, I was happy cause it was a second chance for the game... see I actually want FFXIV to succeed.

Crazy right? I like FFXIV for what I could be, but I think some of the changes from 1.0 to 2.0 weren't the right direction. but again, I've heard this all before and if I really can see into the future, I'm going to pull out and predict...

instead of continuing in any logical manner, Both of you will instead continue to retort in several ad-hominim responses, Ignore the parts of my post that actually explain my reasoning and the parts where i attempt to convey my current like for FFXIV and hope for its future, and that most of the reasons I complain about history repeating itself is because if it does in this situation i will be supremely disappointed.

Are you trying to be sarcastic? Because consoles are going to help this game more than they helped FFXI. The reason for this is because unlike FFXI, which was a PS2 game ported to PC and later 360, FFXIV's PC, PS3, and PS4 clients are in a sense "separate but equal".

FFXIV already has the FFXI races so that is enough influence from FFXI. A lot of people were happy they could make a character similar to the FFXI ones.

FFXI is an old game and you can still play it, if you like FFXI just play that, FFXIV should be its own game it uses newer MMO mechanics.

My brothers and I were in love with FFXI before moving on to WoW then back to FFXI then back to WoW.

We love FFXIV as it is and wouldn't want any of what you proposed.

I also feel compelled to mention I only agreed with like 3 ideas in the OP's post. Most of them reminded me of like Ground-king era FFXI which can suck a bag of doubledongs

1. To everyone saying go back to FFXI.. the player base has dwindled so much and the game has changed so drastically, it is not the same game that many of us loved and therefore its not as simple as "Going back"

2. This game is so sloppy.. its a skeleton of a quality game and therefore im pretty positive they will start building more detail in, as well as harder longer content. Much of which will probably come from FFXI (A much better game then Wow)

3. This is most certainly a Wow clone.. Yoshi said himself he made many people from his team play the game to understand it.. how could you deny it?? not to say a clone of a game in many ways is bad.. however, screw cloning wow, that game is horrible. Clone a much better game like... FFXI
