Imo, there will never be a true 24 man raid because a full group is 8 people. What I mean by that is at no point in this games life will you ever have 24 people in one party group. Unless the implement some sort of alliance feature like FFXI had where you can take three groups of 8 and make an alliance with them and see them all in your UI.
Also the UI's scaling and layout would make it appear that 24 people in a group on your screen would be bad, it would use up a TON of space.
The UI is nice, but the scaling on it, and the ability to customize that scaling is crap imo.

That's why it would need to be a raid party, not a party/full party/light party. And the scaling definitely needs to change, but that's what the Addon API is for.Imo, there will never be a true 24 man raid because a full group is 8 people. would be sweet but square is being too casual friendly with content
i'm sure the endgame community can handle organizing 24man raids they've been doing it for the last 10+ years
Nope, never. SE hates you and won't give you any content you want.FF11 had some real large-scale raids. And some hilarious wipes resulting from them, like this one.
Okay so Coil was a pretty good dungeon. What I don't like is how Yoshi says they'll just keep adding floors to coil and crystal tower. What this means for us is that casual players will be running two 8-man raids and one 24-man raid, while players like myself will be just be running coil and tome farming. There really isn't enough content at all in the game for us.
But back to my main point, I feel that a challenging 24 man raid could be really good. What are your thoughts?
In all honesty I don't like 20-40 man content in MMOs. you could create the exact same experience for half the number of people and it would be just as fun/exciting/epic.
You do realize that each person you add to a group makes it that much riskier and difficult to accomplish, right? So it's difficult enough to try and corral 24 players and make sure they're all doing their jobs. To make the content "hardcore" on top of it would be like asking to stick your hand in a blender.
I'm quite happy with having our challenging content being 8 man parties. It's a good number to have to deal with complex mechanics. Complex mechanics and 24 people simply do not mix. Period.
Whats funny is there is actually a thread like 3-4 threads down titled "need for non hardcore content"..........lol

It's not about difficulty. 20+ person content difficulty lies in getting that many people together and coordinated. There's nothing intrinsically harder about the content itself."Hardcore" content these days just does not exist. Too many casuals whining about difficulty resulting in nerf after nerf and DF/PuG availability.
Why would SE cater to the few of us who actually want varied difficult content and lots of it when the majority just want to breeze through faceroll content to get their lootz.
Companies learned years ago that most people don't want to schedule their playtime like they do work and doctor's appointments, and thankfully moved mostly away from this sort of stuff as a result.
