    Are you sure? I mean, I have no direct evidence to state otherwise, because I never suspected as such and never tried to prove it... but, I know I DoT up the second soldier to be killed in Phase 2, before the BLM and I focus directly on it.. and we've killed the first soldier and turned to the second soldier, by which point it had taken 20-25% total damage. I mean, I kind of find it hard to believe that the tank somehow managed to deal 20-25% damage to a Stoneskin'd Soldier while the BLM and I were killing the other.

    Okay I don't know the fight, but for general mobs, stoneskin prevents application of DoTs.

    When stoneskinned, all damage is counted as 0 but does tick against the stoneskin.

    So if you get DoTs up before stoneskin, it should be fine, but afterwards, nope!

    Soldiers do not block DoT Damage while their stoneskin thing is up, I have my DoTs running on both while the black mage is only on one and they melt pretty fast.
    We have no issues at all for Turn 4, I don't know where you got this info but its inaccurate at best.

    Also those soldiers don't have Stoneskin, its another similar mechanic - its against physical damage ONLY.

    Anyway, just missing Allagan Earrings to be in full lv90 gear now boots dropped tonight~

    I know you're happy and all, but I don't see how relevant this crap is in the current discussion.

    I'm just jealous as fuck since I've never gotten a single best in slot item in the 7-8 weeks clearing turn 1-4.


    edit: either it's just the blackmage melting those soldiers down with the help of your ruins and festers and pet damage, or the tank must be doing a good job removing the stoneskin before you dot the soldiers up.

    Take glim's word for it. He is acc capped heck has 2 more than me and i never miss a spell in coils at all. I only state this as hes not suffering from any acc issues and prob confusing a miss for a block.
    As for the topic, in ak, nothing beats 2 summoners. if groups of mobs are 3 to 4 there is crap i can do as a blm to surpass a summoners aoe. more mobs then i push forward.

    In terms of coils turn 4, a summoner during the 1st group and 4th will prob not be at top in terms of aoe, but they make up for it for the fact that they can spread dots on knights in the other rounds. In my coils group we kill the 5th group dread before the knight and soldier. The summoner and I then kill the 2 soldiers and by the time the monk and bard can take down the two knights the smn and I have taken a hefty chunk off of the final dread. We down it without aoe comming up. Oh and since the 2 knights 2 soldiers are bunched up yep our summoner helped the melee take down their 2 targets where i could not. Our summoner is prob the mvp during that phase.

    I think for Summoners I've seen with low DPS were because they had the "Healer's Blood" in them in that they would spend a good amount of time healing than doing damage.

    I don't know much about a Summoner's healing capabilities, but in parses with parties that may have had such a summoner, their DPS may have been low, but the total healing were more than I expected (but not that high still).

    Going OT here, but with 400~ accuracy in your iLVL90 gear, what do you do for BC? Swap some pieces out?

    if you noticed his earrings has not materia yet n chances are he will prob add acc there since he did seem to get new gear according to his post. getting as much acc on the earrings and getting the best food for acc will prob put him at the cap.

    Which will still leave his pet with horrible accuracy, unless he has an accuracy set to summon it in. Food has no effect on pets, AND they need more accuracy then the player.

    As for glim's comment, it's something I've found, too. While I can't say for the Soldier we focus first, since there's too many numbers popping up to see if DoTs are ticking for damage, when I switch targets and try to have the other Soldier DoT'd up(while both are alive), I do notice them ticking for 0.
