In a perfect world yes I would always have a combo'd ROH ready but if not I wanted to know my best options.

I don't see why you feel the need to get so defensive about my comment.
Based on your question, and your follow up post:
I was assuming you had overlooked the ability to 'sit' on a combo'd Halone (or indeed as Keni1134 suggested, a Savage Blade) for a few seconds.
There isn't really any reason you shouldn't be able to do this. You don't need expert timing and precision or anything, the combo state lasts a considerable amount of time.
