SE making NEW MMO

The most probable outcome is that this new mmo is something of a free to play mmo... something like "Wakfu". Something less likely but that would be jaw dropping awesome, would be a mmo based on either ones of these ips. Star Ocean, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest or even Parasite Eve(wishful thinking) It could also be something completely new and not based on any existing franchise.


Another source here says "Square Enix has heavily invested" in this new mmo.... so we might just see a new high quality mmo like.... i was gonna say FFXIV but there is nothing high quality about this game.

This really got me excited for E3. I can't wait to hear the news, except if Tanaka is working on this new mmo, if that's the case they can go ahead and cancel this....

He destroyed the dreams of millions of players who were expecting FFXIV to be an amazing mmo experience. ....

And you are sure it was him, and not higher management who probably rushed the product to market? To alpha... hell to Beta...

I'm by no means defending him having been banned from XI in 2009, but his track record up until XIV was pretty damn perfect. (PLAY Seiken Densetsu 3 NOW!!!! DO IT!!!!)

people blame him because he the face of the game no one going to blame the CEO or the stockholders for being dumb people who want there money now.

I have a soft spot for Tanaka only because hes the father of the Job system and as the director of the greatest squaresoft RPG (imo SD3 < <) to never leave Japan.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to bring up Dragon Quest. Seems like an awesome idea. Although a Seiken Densetsu MMO sounds better, imo. I would play that in a heartbeat.

Well they're already running FFXI, FFXIV and Fantasy Earth Zero, no reason for them not to try another one I guess....

idk if this was mentioned, but Fantasy Earth Zero was closed down a few months ago.

I disagree with this completely. FFXI did flourish, but it was at a snails pace. There was a time, a long time actually, where XI was unbearable because they couldn't seem to balance anything in the game and it was all over the place in terms of difficulty. In XI, events were either too hard or too easy and it took a good while for them to balance content and create content that was at the correct difficulty vs the reward you got from it (which was another ridiculous issue. See this repeated again under Tanaka with FFXIV R50 NMs)

Plus, you have to look at the major content that is coming out soon before judging Yoshi and the handful of new or repositioned developers. If the content is utter crap, distrust all you want, but you are prejudging.
