I understand that some other fish may have a function other than for CUL, but the purpose and title of this post is using fish for cooking, making more meals and earning gil....

Ummm.... Lets see if I understand your post.

Only cooks buy fish?

Selling on the market boards to other fishermen for levequests doesn't count as earning gil?

Personally I wish that Alchemy still could turn fish into shards and crystals. But that's another story thread.
