    they have said and said it, no NM FF14: ARR, it lead to botting, some abuse with the market and other stuff like this.

    why not a system of bounty, every day you got 5 bounty given by your GC and all you know is them name and have a picture of them after this, you must found them.
    when you reach the right area (like south shroud) you get a small message saying you are close, the monster pop somewhere randomly in the Area and enjoy the search and destroy.

    There was no claim system in 1.23 either, yet NMs worked just fine there.
    On top of this we used to have something called Faction Leves. Most battlecraft faction leves were basically NM battles. They often came in a series, where you'd have to complete three or four easier ones (but still much more difficult than regular leves) before you could get the proper boss leve. The boss leves were usually very different from all the regular leves, and much more challenging, e.g., having to kill two bosses on opposite sides of the (BIG!) Upper La Noscea zone in just 10 minutes. Coliseum gear, for example, used to drop from these. This is what they should re-introduce, in my opinion.

    There is already a claim system in place. Players that tag a monster with a red name have a chance at loot + experience. Players that engage monsters with purple names may only have access to experience from the monster if they participated in enough damage/healing.

    In 1.0 and FFXI these monsters would be placed in a placeholders position. For example, they randomly would spawn in the place of an old monster already in the field (after it is killed).

    I'm not asking for the same systems, but would be interested to see if similar NM aspects of those games would be back.

    I don't remember there being any QQing over people getting out claimed in 1.0...
    Oh wait, people weren't D*** then and would just sit a craft or w/e while waiting for whoever to get their drop.

    I would assume they would, FFXI and FFXIV 1.0 had them in the game. I feel like they will reintroduce them at some point.

    Well, that's just what my experience was in 1.x. Everyone was fairly polite when out farming the NMs. Hell, a few times when I was waiting for someone to get done with Cactuar Jack, a person would kill it three or four times, get no drop, then /tell me 'hey, I'm having some bad luck getting the drop, I'm leaving now, please /tell me when you're done and I'll come back'.

    Its funny cause all that sh*t is still happening everywhere. lol... Cheaters and botters will always exist, and companies fail to realize that and in turn take a "SAFETY" route which punishes real players way more than the botters/cheaters who inevitably find a way to circumvent it. (I'm not saying don't punish/combat cheaters, I'm saying look into more ways to combat/detect rather than how many features you can remove from the game to help "Reduce" it)

    Personally NM's give big empty zones purpose, and FFXIV Needs that. Since every single zone is just a big empty mess with no reason to go into except for when a quest takes you there. Honestly NMs don't need to be FFXI era where they drop the best items ever period (Like Ground Kings were for a while)... But there needs to be NMs... or at least something that makes the zones you explore more interesting.

    I know its nostalgia and I'll admit it, but some of the most fun i had back in FFXI was camping oddball NMs with my friends. Drops didn't matter, it was just fun, dealing with the unique mechanics some NMs got, and overall beating some of them was a real challenge. i know NMs lead to Bots and such but that sh*ts already in the game... I'd rather run by an area and see 2-3 real people and 20 bots camping a random NM than run through a completely empty zone that has no purpose to exist except for filler... like pretty much every zone currently is.

    This game world is so beautiful and varied but it could all be replace with a "Waiting Room" sign and serve the exact same purpose... Pointless filler to your next quest. This world needs to be livened up, its not going to make or break the game... I just feel thats really one of the biggest flaws with new MMOs... Big empty worlds.. No reason to bother exploring them.

    ... Now, It doesn't need to be a Copy>Paste system from FFXI, i know it was frustrating for a lot of people, hell could make the Bounty NMs in Leves have rare drops and such, maybe armor/Weapons of Green/Blue tier appropriate for their level would be awesome.

    Considering 90% of our GC seals are in FATE farming, all they need to do is add NM and FATE to the Achievement tree. If you have it unlocked you have access to a new page in GC. Use Seals to get the loot.It should be done that way in any case.
