I personally love the way people join multiple LS's. When I am on later at night I know one shell has active members, as well as when I am on earlier in the day. When it comes to taking out NM's for top line gear (dodore doublet, tricorne hat, etc) I may help multiple LS's, but I will only take rewards from one LS, as well as making them the priority if multiple shells are doing the same thing. Personally I think not taking care of the hand that feeds you is rather douchy.

I don't see why linkshell management systems can't be addressed sooner rather than later. Just being able to kick out old members whether they are online or not would really help. I also agree that linkshell message function is really awesome to have so that members can see what's new. I assume most players will have more then on linkshell and I like that 14 offers a multiple ls function without carrying around seperate linshell pearls.

I really do like that they aren't items in your inventory now. It sucks because they got a lot right, but the key stuff wrong for some reason. Why this is so hard to address is beyond me, but maybe when we see what they have been doing with the combat and jobs changes we will see.

Zacko and I are kind of lucky in that our two linkshells hold a lot of the same members and one is primarily EU based and the other is primarily NA based so however busy it is depends on the time of day that you log in. We have a pretty solid and very helpful and loyal member base which actually makes playing the game so much more enjoyable.

I can understand Bigg's argument but whether by good judgment by the shell leads or providence we don't really have many problems - sure there are little issues I have with people but I don't let that bother my enjoyment of the game. With the introduction of new content and the eventual influx of XYZ number of PS3 and (hopefully) returning and new PC players that will probably change and linkshells may introduce stricter guidelines for joining.

Linkshell managment in the game really is an insult. How they thought this system was at all passable at launch is really beyond me completely.

Bumping. I think you've hit the nail on the head here. Being able to manage members who are offline and the ability to invite members who may be far away would greatly improve overall linkshell functionality. The current system is far too arbitrary. Another, somewhat troubling issue is the lack of details we have about our linkshell members. Eg- Location, Level, Class Rank, etc.

Being able to log on and see where each member is and what job they are was a fantastic feature in xi's linkshell system. There was a lot of fear before release of this game just being ffxi-2 but frankly, it would have been better of in many ways if it had. So many of the features in xi should have been directly ported over to this and were not. It seems as though they have taken nothing from what they learned in xi and used it here.

This is all that needs to be said.

As a LS leader once a long time ago, I was forced to disband/regroup because there were too many inactive members. What's the point in having an 80-member linkshell when only 5 are active at any one time? The fact is, there is no point. It's not that I want to kick anyone (I hate kicking anyone as a leader, no matter what happens), but that sometimes there is no choice in the matter if I'm going to lead an active linkshell.

    LS need changes ASAP

I agree the LS system needs work. Upping the cap on members per LS could help a lot. I personally like the idea of having more than one LS since we can have up to 5 or 6 I think. At the moment LS is nothing more than a chat channel. Not sure why people are taking it personal that people want to have more than 1 LS. I would like to see either easier switching between LS or the ability to talk in more than one at any given moment, member cap increased, as well as, the ability for LS leaders to remove inactive players.

I am really dissapointed in player attitute towards players having more than one LS. I have am reading a negative image of players with more than 1 LS and I have had players personally harass me in game for something SE is allowing me to do. If anything, I would like to direct this feeling toward SE not the player.

I played FFXI for years and was offered a LS and accepted it. I never even once thought about leaving that LS. And since it had few members, I didn't meet very many ppl and only reached lvl 67. Entering FFXIV with that experience I was thrilled I had the potential to get to know many more players by holding more than 1 LS.
