lol no one has to go anywhere to get voice acting, its already in the game, if you didn't notice. And really its a matter of opinion where SE should put there funding, and its pure speculation on what the overall cost would be. I believe if the voice acting was a little more thought out it would be appreciated a lot more. I know a lot of you players are just all for the grind, and want more places added to the game so you can grind some more, and get all your gear, so you can go get more gear with it. But some of us want more immersion, sense this is after all a FF game.
Fair enough, but your level of immersion isn't the same as everyone else. And you're mistaken on the idea that a majority of people who want new zones just to grind. My immersion is simply about expansive areas and or zones to be lost in. I talk to my friends not to NPCs so the voice acting thing is pretty moot.
The problem with the vocal community in most if not MMO's is thinking their opinion is shared by the majority, when its really mostly shared opinions with the most vocal of people cause the majority of people don't care to discuss anything on the forums. They're too busy enjoying their game.

Am I going to fund it? Hillarous.
Tell you what though, I'll do some voice work for free how's that sound?
I mean.... no offense to any of the amazing voice actors in this game.
Just saying, I'd do it for free..... what?![]()

Personally I haven't heard a word of voice acting on my PC so I spent a day on my PS3 and listened to it via the "Neverending Journal". From what I heard I am glad I didn't hear it as the game progressed. Do not need anymore of the same.

But what if it was "GOOD" voice acting? We could Samuel L Jackson up in dis' Airship.

While I don't like the idea of guildheist (or any other) NPC voice acting, I would like to see the storyline voice acting completed. Seems like going through the main story only like 5% of my interactions with the main characters were voiced over, the rest was all dialogue. That was disappointing. While the acting wasn't top notch, the character voices grew on me after a while and by the end of the game the voices were a welcome addition to the game. I liked how in FFX even the filler dialogue between cutscenes was dubbed over and I was hoping for something more like that with FFXIV. I hope in the future we see more voice acting for the main characters and I wouldn't mind the guild and job story lines to have voice acting as well. Right now the game feels a bit incomplete with the lack of voice acting given to us.
"There's a time when a man needs to fight, and a time when he needs to accept that his destiny is lost, that the ship has sailed, and that only a fool would continue. The truth is, I've always been a fool."

The English voice acting is terrible enough already. Of course a solution is to just use JP voice acting instead, much better.
Only Gaius and his tribuni have any good voice acting. Lahabrea wasn't bad at first but there was too much tone changing.

IMO I think the lack of voice acting the game is something SE should be ashamed of. The voice acting is a bit sub-par at some parts but I remember Yoshi-P saying that all of main quests would be fully voice acted. We have gotten nothing that even comes close to that.
I feel that SE needs to go back voice all, and by all I mean every single one, of cut scenes for the main story quest line. TBH I think they should voice all of the class/job quests as well.
Even if it's bad voice overs I would rather have that than nothing.
