The way this is worded could lead to some incorrect impressions.

A level 30 CNJ has 6 slots for cross-class abilities. A level 35 CNJ has 7. If the first five slots are taken up by job skills, a 30 WHM would have 1 slot and a 35 WHM would have 2 slots. Or, if only the first slots are taken up with the skills you actually have, both a 30 WHM and a 35 WHM would have 5 slots (6-1 and 7-2 respectively).

Neither of those is the case. Both a 30 WHM and a 35 WHM have 3 slots, because Jobs simply get 1 slot per 10 levels (instead of per 5 levels).

Update: I changed it and put it into my own words! I don't know if its less confusing but I tried to explain it the best I could so... I hope its acceptable enough.

And also I never got back to this.

You're still saying that you get cross class skills for every 5 levels (with some other math along with it) on a job. Nothing happens (with regard to cross-class skills) every 5 levels for jobs. Level 30-39, you have 3 cross class slots. Level 40-49, 4. Level 50, 5. If you have a soul crystal equipped and get level synced to 20-29, you'll have 2 slots.

When you have a soul crystal equipped, you get one cross-class slot for every 10 levels. When you don't have a soul crystal equipped, you get one slot for every 5 levels. Minimum one slot.
