    The text of the NPC from the screenshot you attached rather sounds like the Garleans raided it.
    Hmmm. Excitement. How long has this been there?

    Okay, I'm gonna do something crazy now and you might hate me in the end.
    And I might hate myself in the end...

    Maybe they are planning on doing RP like events, such as Urianger / no music and heavy rain
    shortly before the mid-June patch, to sort of bring the new era.

    Because... Grand Companies will come back. But only if there's war.
    So no war = no reason to come back.
