I tend not to immediately equip new gear gained in dungeons mainly because I rarely get new gear in dungeons. Being a reasonable person I never roll Need even if it's something I can, mostly cause I'm not that self-centered. That said, though, if I do get something I weigh the cost of repairs against the benefit of putting it on. Most of the time the cost outweighs the good. If I feel I'm suffering for not wearing it, though, I might, but that's rarely ever been the case.
No offense, but WAT? Why is needing an item you can use being self centered? And repairs are now between 1-200 gil for a item after the patch that made it cheaper. How is that cost ever not worth putting on a better piece of gear?I tend not to immediately equip new gear gained in dungeons mainly because I rarely get new gear in dungeons. I think my class quest robe is horrible. DL looks so much better. Doesn't look like I'm wrapped in pvc.

It's self-centered because I'm not the only one in that instance. Rolling Need is like flicking a bird at the rest of the party, at least that's how it feels to me. And yes, repairs are cheaper now but they weren't always. I haven't gotten anything since the reduction of repair costs so the issue hasn't come up to be an issue.

If you're party isn't a group of petulant children, they'll actually be glad for you to get gear that you can use. I always pass on things that can be needed and is needed by fellow party members, and I'm sure many others do too. Don't hesitate to need on stuff in the future, you'll be missing out on gearing up your class :T Only time I can think of where it would be a crappy move is if you need on something you've already outleveled

I think the general etiquette rule for dungeon loots is that if it's an upgrade for the class you're running the dungeon as, then hitting need and equipping the piece is not at all self-centered. Hitting need on stuff that you won't actually use is a different story entirely.I tend not to immediately equip new gear gained in dungeons mainly because I rarely get new gear in dungeons. I'm always glad when others get loot. Means things die quicker or I get bigger heals. Also, just because ... ... ... ... ...

How exactly did I hurt my group by skipping DL robe for whm and going for relic body (af2)?
I'm fairly certain DRG can't wear DL whm robe only sch and whm can.
So please explain how I hurt my group again?
