Ok, i'm seriously starting to feel dislike towards this game just from this one duty. I've never had this much trouble with a dungeon in any MMO before, and I have to do it to unlock Amdapoor Keep for the relic weapon. The last boss is just a wipe monster. I've run it 7 times so far, and each one keeps wiping till the clock runs out. This last one lag was an issue for everyone but me for some reason. Regardless, anyone else find Aurum Vale much harder than it should be? I mean my GOD! Ultima Weapon went by with a lot less of a headache than this place DX

No you dont. Level your GC, you'll get a quest for Darkhold. Once you do that, you'll unlock AK.

Hello OP; for this dungeon I strongly suggest a black mage though it's not neccessary. What is nice however is to have someone that can do decent AoE damage very quickly.

I've run it with quite a few different setups, my favorite has been PLD, WHM, DRG, BLM though ... but really it was only my favorite because for once I got to play BLM and was not stuck healing e_e!

If you can get a group of friends together or even a shout group so you can keep at it until you beat it, it'd be best but you'll be surprised at what some well-timed AoEs can do to the last boss.

Another thing on the last boss; if you're healing, try to keep everyone's HP topped off and make sure to eat your fruit at around 4~ stacks of the debuff. It's helpful before you start the fight for people to use the signs and mark which fruit they are going to take so that people aren't caught without a fruit later in the fight.

When she runs to the middle-ish area and starts popping out pods, be sure to AoE the bejeezus out of them (WHM with cleric stance + holy can work in a pinch but they may find themselves running short on MP, so ballad is a big plus here!)

Yeah, I did this one a while ago and recently did it again to help a friend. We had Paladin, Monk, Blackmage, and Whitemage. The WHM and the BLM were able to AOE the seedlings very quickly while the Monk stayed on the boss. We ate fruit at 3 stacks because in that area there are plenty of them. Also, it reallllllly helps if your tank can avoid the easily avoidable badbreath attack that the last boss has...otherwise that's just one more thing your healer is going to be dealing with...so the tank needs to run through the boss to behind them to avoid that badbreath AOE attack.

You can unlock AK two ways, ign wiki's arent that awesome, its just people compiled, Ive never beat Aurum Vale cause at the time on SMN it was too hard, I skipped it and at 50 unlocked AK.

What's the alternative way? Because I've done my grand company, and There is a quest for Aurum Vale currently. So I don't know how I'm getting it through them

maybe you're just undergeared or getting bad players in your party or you're the bad one yourself. I'd like to know what are you gonna do when you reach Amdapor Keep if you think Aurum Vale is hard.

The quest was changed, If you read a patch note, from Amdapoor Keep to Aurum Vale for your Grand Company. Now you have to complete this dungeon as a prerequisite. Unless you grandfather'd yourself passed it already.

I think that WP, AK, CM, and prae are all easier than Aurum Vale...
I hated that dungeon as well, never setting foot there again
