I have nameplates turned off for anyone not in my party, so I don't usually notice bodies on the ground. They do blend in, most of the time. Also, just because someone plays a healing class doesn't mean they are obligated to raise complete strangers who were dumb enough not to bind where they were leveling. It's nice if they do, but in older games we used to charge for that.

And yeah, had the person return while I was waiting for cooldowns to expire just enough times that I don't bother switching classes anymore. But if I notice bodies (big if, with names turned off) while I'm on WHM/SCH/SMN I do generally raise them.

"We" is a very general term. A lot of us White Mages (or whm sub) in FFXI would raise people we'd come across without asking for anything in return. In fact, I wouldn't even accept a reward for it. People used to charge for teleports, but a white mage that was charging to raise people was usually frowned upon, on my server anyway. And that was Kujata. Big drama server.

In this game, however, raising feels kind of moot. Transportation is ridiculously easy, and there isn't a time where I've hung around waiting for someone to raise me. It's just not time efficient, when I can just teleport once more to the nearest point and avoid rez sickness. The exception would be one of those long fates or if you find yourself a lowbie who's evidently out of his level range area.

I've been playing MMOs for 13 years now, healing for 10 of them, and I have NEVER EVER charged for a raise. so please, speak for yourself.

Pretty much this for me. Yeah it would be nice, but it's not something you absolutely HAVE to do. I'm no stranger to having to release and run back so I have no problem porting back. I am appreciative of someone who happens to run by right as I die and bring me back up, but I stay in the mindset that something like that isn't going to happen. Lower your standards, you suffer less disappointment.

Not like it's that hard to go back considering you teleporting is such a prominent feature in this game. Suck it up people.
