piety is pretty useless.. part of the sch job is keeping on top of your aetherflow and MP.. you should never be out of MP.. the only instance i tend to get low on MP in is Titan HM with his stomps because you have to spam Succor, for this reason priority for my aetherflow stacks goes to Lustrate (for MB) > Energy Drain .. during the Gaol stage where there is no aoe and the tank is topped off i will burn all aether on energy drain and then restack.

other than that like i said mp should never be a problem for sch

i disagree about PIE being useless. yeah in titan aether and energy drain should keep you in a comfortable mp zone but assuming you know the fight well, titan's damage is very predictable, as opposed to certain fights in coil, where esp. with a warrior tank i've noticed that the amount of unpredictable spike damage being dished out can drain your mana VERY quickly. i'm conscientious about keeping aether on CD and pop x-ether as needed but as those healing-intensive fights drag on it becomes easier and easier to get dangerously low on mp whether scholar or not. so for that reason, let alone combined with the fact that piety increases the raw power of your aetherflow, i would say that PIE is worth considering

also (wtf @ character limit) re: the OP's question i would advise going crit>det>pie=vit>SS as others have mentioned. crit is your primary goal because of its obvious synergy with adlo. DET second because not only does it increase your raw healing power, but also your fairy's. finally i would suggest going PIE for the reasons mentioned above, although since you're going to ultimately want around 4k buffed hp for coil, vitality is a decent option. if you DO decide to socket SS make sure not to half-ass it because you'll only notice a benefit when it's stacked

so in practice:get your robe (assuming HQ), slot savage aim until crit is capped, do the same for DET, then with your remaining slot(s) socket PIE or VIT as needed since they both have their benefits.

Yeah if you are playing scholar right you shouldn't need piety at all ready, where as determinance and crit helps those heals and fairie heals a whole lot.

So on that cap screen, what does the colors red, blue, and black mean?

nobody is saying that you should go pie over crit or det...just that it's not a worthless stat and is in many cases a good 3rd stat after crit and det are capped

I would not suggest overmelding IV materia. While the gain MAY be great (most times, you'll only need 1 IV materia to cap all the stats you're looking for), it certainly is not cost efficient, and you're gonna overspend when you don't need to.

I'm in a Legacy server, so it's not surprising at all, materias here are somewhat cheap than other non-legacy servers.

    Ditto with the post above.

In any case, it's still stucked with the 2 T4 materias I posted, still haven't got any suggestions on what else to meld.
